I'd still love to see a proper ship build queue...

Less population. Population density has a huge impact on morale. So stop building farms.
I know people always want to keep playing, and having a map that unlocks more areas as the game progresses, so I think we should find a way in GC3 to have an 'Infinite' galaxy that just keeps growing.
I recommend you name it "Play Until Your Computer Dies" mode. :)
JMiddleton: Were you addressing me? If not, I apologize. I crave a build queue mostly for flavor reasons. I enjoy having my fleets consist of a mix of large vessels escorted by smaller ones. While perhaps not the best way to win the war, it is how I enjoy the game most, which is more important than winning. Currently, to get a mix of ships, I must either queue a new one each time a planet finishes something, or use the somewhat absurd workaround of having planet A build a parti
I disagree. The lack of a proper ship build queue is utterly insane. It is a very basic feature, and I'm still a little bewildered that we've gone through several patches and two expansions and it hasn't made it in yet. Makes me wonder if adding one would be particularly difficult due to something specific to the game...
Slurple: Too bad...we took your money and Cari spent it on winter boots that keep shorting out my mouse
Maybe you should take someone else's money and get a new, boot-proof mouse? And Slurple: If you're not joking, then you're woefully retarded. These are referred to as "betas" for a reason. If you are joking,
The ship designer is probably my favorite aspect of the game. I pretty much design ships containing just jewelery and save them as templates, then use these templates exclusively in-game. My ships arn't gigantic or amazing or insanely detailed, but I do very much enjoy using them... Wish Stardock would stop changing jewelery and breaking them, though. :(
One problem with having invasion tactics always work is that you could then just chuck 2 people in a transport and hurl it at your enemy's best planet. Mass driver it, kill 2 people, and abuse his planet quality. Neither option is perfect.
I don't mind this event. Means you no longer have to put engines on your ship. Just research the speed +1 techs until you're at 5 and you're good to go. I admit, I don't play the dense immense galaxies (just sparse ones), so my turns don't take too long, but I don't see how 5 speed max is so horribly crippling.
Given that this is in "beta reports" a day after beta4 came out, one would imagine that it would be TA related...
Why would you want to play Dread Lords 1.0, without the incredible amount of features added in Dread Lord patches and two expansion packs...? Over a slight rebalancing of the structures...? Just build another morale building on your planets, or one less farm, and the problem is solved. Might as well get used to it now, as opposed to never playing with the expansion packs you bought.
6. Help Jack Thompson find a real hobby.
I laughed. A lot.
Indeed. Killing billions of weird space aliens and conquering the galaxy is not a passtime you would tend to associate with a stereotypical female. As for killing hardware, I found out that CD-ROMs tend to get unhappy when you put things that arn't CDs in them.
That is very strange, especially that they work correctly on larger hulls. Try some smaller hulls, perhaps, and maybe get another miniturization, and see how it looks with a slightly bigger medium hull?
And C&C 3 is how many years newer than SC? Obviously a newer game will have better graphics... As for me, I grew up with StarCraft, it's part of my childhood, I can't help it.
It was indeed very neat. I missed most of it, but neilo pretty much got it right. I believe he said that he would like it to be possible after the release, but it would likely be unoffical/unsupported. But possible.
Props for using hot fusion, which is inherently more fun than cold fusion.
I'm sorry if this was mentioned this already, or if I am completely incorrect here, but... Doesn't every single tech get slightly more expensive after you research a new tech? Thus, if you avoid a certain low cost tech for a very long time, it will start to get more expensive. Probably not enough to make it cost another turn of research, unless you havn't expanded much... I seem to recall rushing to certain techs being easier than if I took my time and researched a mor
Perhaps they are a terran break-off faction. From the sounds of things, smaller/minor races comprised of a major race sound somewhat common.
They're not being given them, they're rush-buying them. They've always done this, just rarely... they're doing it a *lot* more now though.
Uh, yeah. That's not what I'm talking about. Sorry for being so vague, I'll see if I can explain this better. Remember earlier in Dread Lords, when players were able to get negative customization points? Is it possible that custom races, now getting 15 customization points to spend, conflicts with the fix to prevent players from getting negative customization points? Please, look at these. http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/9467/points1rf0.png This picture
Not sure how to edit posts, sorry. I forgot to mention, if you just have the custom race use 10 points instead of the 15 they now get, there's no error.
In Beta 2, when you have a Custom Race as an opponent, and use all 15 of their customization points, the game gives a error about how one race has too many points spent and the game won't count as a metaverse game. Not sure if the same thing happens when you are the custom race. Perhaps this is due to the change in Dread Lords to prevent people from exploiting to get extra points?
If you want to be taken seriously, you should really consider re-writing your suggestions, explaining them out a bit more, and perhaps offering reasons as to why they might add to gameplay...
Interesting. I can't see GC2 winning the best PC game award, there's too many games with very large fanbases and much more hype. But I'd be suprised if it doesn't win in the strategy (non-rts) category.
