How are you adding the "carrier module" to the ships? It seems to me that you'd have to also create a module that can be added to a ship design in order for the ship to generate the effect that is being referenced.

I had a game where I found three and an AI race found two. But it was so late in the game that my production ships were already better (Ah, large hulls with four nanorippers...).

I had a minor race send a constructor ship across nine sectors to build an influence base next to Earth. During the first year of the game. Naturally, I declared war. However, it took me THREE years to build sufficient life-support to be able to scout the location of their homeworld. It took another six months before my warships could get there. It was a relatively short war... we

I reloaded the save file after the .10 patch and the problem with the planet = Heavy Fighter no longer existed. As of yet, I cannot recreate the influence flood condition. So, really, I have nothing to report until I give the .10 patch a good shakedown run.

I've been playing for over a week and I haven't had to "register" yet. I bought the game at Best Buy, because I didn't feel like driving to the mall to check EBGames, went home and installed it. It asked for my serial number, which was printed legibly on a sticker on the CD case, but said it was "optional". I entered it anyway. The game installed and I went to patch. Ug, patches, huh? It asked for my serial number again. I entered it, and everything has been patching fine ever s

Probably not going to happen with the next patch. Would be a nice addition for one of the expansions though.

I have to agree with Roarck. I had my galactic population graph plummet on a large galaxy when I had only 2-3 planets (out of about a dozen total) producing transports with an automatic rally point. I also build one entertainment improvement per farm. I can usually run 49% taxes without many problems.

It seems that the sandbox games and the campaign keeps two different sets of ship designs (one is .shipclass and the other is .shipcfg). Some of the small and tiny hull designs don't show up until you get Advanced Hulls. Might the empty prototype designs have been saved over with some added components? There might be something in the game that remembers what tech level the prototypes were designed at and requires that level of tech for some reason. Aft

I'm not sure I follow you... To build a starbase, you send out a Constructor ship. Once you're in the right spot, you select "Construct". You're then given the option to build a Military base, an Economic base, or an Influence base. If you build the Influence base, then you can send more Constructors to that base to add the modules you want. I'm not aware of Influence starbases increasing morale, but I could be wrong. Maybe that's why I have such bad morale problems. I

Maybe it has something to do with the ships being gifted outside of the race's support range?

Nice! Good clean construction and it does rather look like a Bird of Prey. What size hull did you start with?

I've also noticed that the middle button only works if the middle button is configured to "default" in the Windows mouse setup. Usually, I set the middle button to double-click instead, but then the camera rotating doesn't work. I'm not too worried about it, since ALL applications that use the middle button are like that. Still, if there was an alternate key for the middle mouse button, I could reset my mouse settings...

Ascendancy had 3-D galaxies, but you could only travel from star-to-star by taking specified "warp lanes". Maybe GCIII will have 3-D galaxies which are divided up into cubes...

I had one CTD last week after the Stardock update. Another thread talked about the memory-resident component (MCP?) and how to disable it. Since I didn't have any crashes before the update, I went ahead and disabled this feature. I haven't had any crashes to desktop since. In game, there are a few quirky things (mostly with planetary invasions), but really, for me, the game runs and is enjoyable. Though, I do look forward to future patches and game-play tweaks (like unspent social
