No answer? is it a part of the game no implemented yet?

I found out yesterday I had one trading good (can't remember the name) after I invaded a planet I think (or maybe a trading ship came to my empire, I can't recall).

Anyone can explain what is the deal with trading goods?

Thank you

You have to research a tech that will let you build the trade good on a planet. Then you get that trade good bonus, and only you can sell it to other cultures.

Yep. You cannot trade captured Trade Goods, IIRC, only ones you have built yourself. As of 1.0X though you DO get the bonus from it when you capture it.

Ok, let me break it down for you a bit more. Each planet has the colony screen where you can see it's tiles/squares. This screen is where you choose to build, well, buildings. Those are social projects. Ships are military projects. Once you research the correct technology, it will unlock the related trade good for you to then build on ONE planet. This trade good gives your entire empire the bonus. You can sell that trade good to other cultures, and they can then build that building/trade good for their own personal use, but they can't sell it to anyone. Only you can do that. I never sell many trade goods to them because they are usually great bonuses for you that no one else can ever get unless you decide to sell to them.

Hope that helps.
