Okay, first thing first. The 'Sign me in' at the bottom of the page goes to a 'Site go boom' page. I had to use the login boxes at the top of the page. I'd like to be able to download this via SDC or BT. Because it is such a big download, http and ftp for me just disconnect halfway through (or worse, near the end).

Okay, from what I gathered from the wiki is this: - Don't create fleets, especially during late game. - Single ships with lots of fire power is better than fleets. - Use the luck ability. - 75% of the enemies attack into defense for your ship can make your ship invincible, especially in the mid to later game (not sure about this).

I got caught out by this when I updated to DA. It's doesn't seem so easy to understand so I'm gonna read the wiki page to see if it makes things for understandable.

I didnt mind the humour, but I did find the lack of description or historical information a bit annoying before so I find this is a great addition to the expansion. Maybe a quote (with or without humour) from the relevant races for added effect?

Early on the in orginal campaign, you only get laser weapons and mass driver defence. Which means the defense will always be square-rooted (I think). In this case, is it better to play the whole original compaign with a weapons-only strategy?

Looks great! Adds more favour, although I can imagine it being more difficult to balance, although I have never one to care about balance too much. What happens when you overtake a planet with a certain building/resource you don't normally get? ie Slave Pit.

Thanks for your info. So defense must be higher than attacker's attack before it is effective?

I've been away from GalCiv2 for longer than serveral months and lots of things have changed. I've recently bought both the expansion packs (well, one of them is preordered) and having a go at things again. I'd like to mention that GalCiv2 runs as smooth as silk now, so I'm very impressed. Anyway, to my question - it looks like battle has changed but I have no idea what but was surprise at certain

I will first apologise because I haven't read any previous post but here are my opinions. I think Mega events are a great idea! I personally believe that balancing is overrated - as in life, there are a lot of random possibilities and events. Something that's going well, might suddenly go wrong and vice versa. Not everything should go according to plan. Nevertheless, I do understand where some people would want a more controlled game. I think it's already been mentioned but turning a mi

Sounds great! Would this feature be easily internationalised? or will it strictly be in English?

I agree. The algorithm needs to be reworked since advancing in a technology should never give less space than before (otherwise what's the point) and IMO considered a bug. I don't mind if the technology only gives you 1 or 2 more spaces, because that at least is going forward.

Tactical combat would be nice and seems like a good 'next step' in tatical warfare. The AI will have to be good though, at least at the moment the battle is fair giving the user tatical decision through it's technology gained. Advanced diplomacy option is something I really like to see - some interaction between AI and human would make the computer far less robotic but this is a feature that I think is difficult to pull off. Too bad I can't vote for two things as I cant dec

I'd like to add that for the 1 farm to 1 entertainment to work, you need to upgrade the relevant technology up near enough the same time otherwise you have too much in 1 area. I think for every farm upgrade you make, you need 2 entainment upgrade to even out the morale problems. Economy starbases are fantastic. A huge populate planet, built as an economy capital, surrounded by fours economy st

I based mine on Horoscope names (ie. Gemini, Taurus). I also design my ship according to those names.

I've noticed that the sister site is down a lot of the time (or some kind of other errors) since GalCiv2 was released. Does anyone know if this will be fixed soon because it is starting to annoy me.

BTW, has this (or will this) be updated to account for the new attack system? Both sides attack simultaneously instead of 1 after another. I wasn't sure if this was going to be introduce in 1.2 or already has for the latest 1.11.

Hi Draginol, I like to say that I appreciate all your comments on developing the AI in GalCivII as I have (and still am) studying AI to varying degrees for the last few years, and all this information is very enlightening. I think most of the problem comes from people expecting that AI to be smart - but even in Chess, there's not a 100 percent chance that the computer can beat an expert human player. The limitation also stems from time, and processing power. Good work and I

No, I disagree! You should be able to choose at any time. One time the tech I stole was Xeno Ethics. I had to immediately choose my alignment. It was not something I wanted to do. I disagree. That is what the tech is for - learning about it would force you into a specific alignment. To deter the choice, you must not research the tech or prevent

in the end first the Iconians and then the Torians successfully researched Technology victory, however there was no defeat triggered for me Sounds like a bug! Maybe because in 1.0X AI won by influence and military victory most of the time. Alliance victory is a joint winner option.

mmhhh.. I think we all have an idea what we think the AI should do, but reading all the posts here, it seems the AI is doing fine with certain weakness/strengths at different times of the game (except maybe for all races choosing the same weapon thing). The real question is how do they play throughout the entire game, that picking up little things. Maybe their strategies do work during that period. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmidd
