1&2 Hmm... This is where everyones strategy differ's. Wish I could give you a best of the best play by play, but I can't. But I'd be happy to tell you what I do. I rush buy two factory's, 1 regular colony ship, finish researching impulse drive (right after ion drive, some races get it some don't) and then about 3 or 4 regular colony ships. What I've been meaning to do is send additional colony ships to transfer population to high grade planets to speed

Well, jpcarrol, I'd recomend making a new thread... this ones in the toilet. I think we may be able to attract on employee instead of forum hate them into oblivion somewhere else. I'd be happy to try to fix your problem, though I'm for some part I am technically inept, but I know based on how many people in this thread that were posting "hey you fix your graphics card driver!" someone will notice your problem, then proceed to tell you once how to
*cough.* My first game was on large. My second game was on gigantic. Yup. The game's rock solid! oh yes, about geforce 4's and ti's... Wikpedia Quote: "If the capabilities of the GeForce 4 family are defined by the GeForce 4 Ti, then the GeForce 4 MX (NV17) is a GeForce 4 in name only. Many criticized the GeForce MX name as a misleading marketing ploy since it was less advanced than the preceding GeForce 3. On its
*cough* have you ever had the altarians declare war on you simply for being a "demonic" civilization? Then the torians. Then the Iconians (I think just because they were allied) Although my fleet of psyonic bmw's as I call 'em (beamers, get it? ) promptly defended, and then attacked, and then annihilated. I just wish they had core detinators implemented. I sure as heck
Thats odd. Precursor rangers typically have 4 engines, I thought...
Use the shipyard to custom create ships. Just a tip. But a very important one at that.
The one thing I reccomend is for stardock to create a complaints and bugs section of the forum, and have a strict moderating policy of moving threads there. I consider it a major eyesore to see all of these complaints threads, repetitious ones at that, and it'll both help people see that they are repetitious, and smooth out the forum for the real fans to read up on the latest comments, strategy's... well... whatever it is I come here for <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_D
Umm... *cough* .... Precursor event? "Rapidly expanding death globe discovered on planet XYZ. We have the technology to fight it off, but only on one planet as the machine is quite massive and requires a concentrated effort on our civilizations part. We recomend saving our homeworld." Hehehe. How bout that for game changing event?
theres something under victory conditions that lets you check money lost due to interest. Check that. I daresay that that -200 to income was mitrosoft calling the collection agency.
1. Yep. Though I didn't know the manual said otherwise. Military production on the otherhand doesn't get spent unless your using it (so I've heard). I don't think its been acknowledged as a bug. 2. each megaton feeds 1 billion, not million. And theres planet hard caps based on quality, so be careful not to overproduce food for a colony. 3. Yep. Completely normal. Some of 'em get special bonuses you can't even buy though, like the Yor getting +100% loyalty and +25% miniaturi
Heh. Oh well, so much for my hope. Got loyalty and morale confused... Still, there is the bug part of this. Wonder if this new patch fixes it before I even state though. Edit: OH YEAH! Loyalty prevents defection, which approval rating causes! Thats why I thought that. But so far, it looks like approval rating doesn't affect production at all, which the tutorial states it does.
I just cranked a fleet of medium 8 movement 1 psionic beam each fighters with no armor. My manufacturing capitol had just enough shields per turn to crank one out a turn. Put 6 in a fleet, usually enough. Make sure you ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS get the first attack (I had eyes of the universe for its insane sensor bonus) by engaging the enemy first. Works on normal, at least.
Was experimenting to see if the 100% loyalty of the Yor means they don't reduce production at low approval ratings. Well, it doesn't. Decided to see what would happen if I did the Korx did it, thought the planet would go into revolt a'la civ or something. At the very least reduce production like the tutorial says. It didn't. Furthermore, I returned the economy slider up to an 81% approval bonus. The effect? Production neither went up or down from the raised
Ok. That garbage truck request reminds me of Monster Garage. "Garbage Truck." "Garbage Truck Mark II" !
Aww someone beat me to the yor ship design. I was headin more insectoid anyways though... Oh yeah. Nice designs. I really like your tiny ship designs they look excellent.
Ok. Quasi Quote coming your way... "Artificial Slave Factory Only price... a wafer thing slice of your soul." Boosts miltary production by 20%. Evil only galactic wonder. edit: thats actually in the game.
Heck, I was using a early game rush strategy on challenging, and watched as my underpopulated developing planets were the third "world" of the galaxy. I had industry to rival the best of 'em, but watched as they techtraded way up the having every technology I had, better research, and 5 spots up the weapons tree (3 on the armor) than me. Suffice it to say, after looking at the stats timeline in awe, I decided to restart (well, what brought this to my attention was I was overheating due to the gp
