It also sounds like you expanded slowly and missed on getting any other planets in the initial 'colony rush'. Perhaps if you build colony ships faster next game you can get some planets peacefully.

You are aware they've stated that 1.1 will significantly decrease hp gains for leveling, right? Reading developer logs FTW!
Uhhh, the first two patches they've done so far have added a few new options if I'm not mistaken. In summary : OP needs to learn what a beta is and why it would be buggy and to read the patch notes for the non-beta patches.
Did you know JHaverkamp and I posted the same thing, only I posted faster and he gave you a useful link?
*sniffs* Hey, who exhumed the dead horse?
Did you know stardock already has a stickied 'did you know' thread in the main GalCivII forums?
The install program said you needed the cd key Incorrect. The install program PROMPTS you for the cd key and stores it in the game's memory if you input one. It doesn't REQUIRE the key in order to install.
The ship must have some kind of defense module installed before the defense assist applies.
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 This card is rather old. You can get a really nice (compared to this one especially) new card for like $60. It'd be an investment you'd be well off to make in my opinion.

The only reason it should take 40 turns to build an upgrade to a structure type is if you're letting your research on that path outpace your research on factories. Factories that are on par with the 'level' of the upgrade you're wanting to build typically don't take long to build them.
Also, when you go to 'upgrade' a ship in the designer, I think it would be nice for the program to recreate the ship in case you just want to change out the lasers or something, you don't have to recreate the whole ship with engines, decorations, etc.. this would save a lot of time. Anyone else think along these lines for the shi
So the fighter that was going to do between 1 and 8 damage is gone and the dreadnought that is going to do between 1 and 50 damage lives for an extra turn because the firepower from your dreadnought that *could* have tried to do between 1 and 50 damage to their dreadnought was used for overkill on an 8 hp frame instead? This is making us think happy thoughts why? <
I thought that once you got into debt it automatically halted your spending completely until you were out of debt. Other than that, MonkeyLogic is correct, raising taxes are the best way to get out of debt faster. Oh, and anyone else see the irony in someone whose nickname has 'Gipper' in it being in debt and unsure how to get out?
i installed the game and right after the intro (which runs perfectly fine) i see the menu very very shortly and the game crashes.. Have you installed any of the patches yet? There have been several tweaks and bugfixes already released for the game. If you're used to playing games by other companies
Maybe you are searching for the manual delivered with your game? Or maybe the button labeled "manual" when you double click your GalCiv2 shortcut on the desktop? The one right beneath play? That opens the .pdf manual that installs when you install the game. Alternatively you could simply browse ou
Microsoft products on both points. When installing say WinXP, after one patch comes another, then another and another... As Monkey Pants pointed out. (Wow, say that one three times fast!) The 'patches' you're thinking of are more hotfixes than major patches. If you installed XP base w/out any servi
i.e. it makes no difference to your total galactic population growth (and hence your tax revenue growth) whether you split a population across two worlds or not. Well, yes and no. Let's apply some real numbers to see where the difference is: On a world of 4 billion, a 5% growth rate means
Disband and recreate the fleet, it's a bug that is caused by moving one ship to its max range and then moving the rest to it (with some moves left) and making a fleet out of them. At that point you fleet will go to 0 moves as it is limited to the least moves of the ship in the fleet, but for some reason they don't refresh correctly. It seems to happen when you fleet up the same class of ships with varying move amounts.
It's strange for me to say this, because in all other 5x games, i love doing research. 5x? I thought this was a 4x game? I can't even remember the Xs when there are only four. eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXsomething. See? *sniffle*
My sensor ship was destroyed, but it's sensor view remains like it's still there. I reported this for all units with sensors some time back. Not just destroyed, it happens when they find wormholes, too.
Pssst, the 'quote' feature is broken at the moment, you have to highlight the text you want to quote, hit quote, the go in between the two "quote" "/quote" items (in [ ] marks instead of " " marks, of course) and ctrl-v to paste your highlighted text you want to quote. That is all.
The Godess has spoken, so be silent you low servants of the Almighty Dread Lord before your punishment is applied accordingly with your insolence..... If I'm not silent will the Goddess spank me?
You shouldn't need to use gas if you have double troop transport modules and they're both fully loaded. Gas just hurts the planet quality, but it does ensure a victory.
Weird. I haven't hit *that* version of the glitch but I have run into one where I see the old ship design but have the new ship stats. After it is built I think the picture upgrades properly, but until then it looks like the old design.
