For the record, it costs 150 bc and does 5 damage; the black hole gun, which I had at the time I got the ripper, costs 140 and does 16 damage. It also doesn't weigh much more. To be exact the nano ripper is unlocked with singularity driver 4 so really you can only compare it to that.

Try having less production planets and more econ planets (that is high lvl planets with econ buildings, farms and entertainment centers). Really you only need 2-3 maybe 4 really good dedicated production planets, make sure to cover them with 4 fully upgraded econ starbases and you'll have all the military production you'll need. All the rest of the planets should be research and economy.
My Iconians need quite a bit of tuning, I drastically change the attributes and even the shipset......but I think their race logo is the coolest.
not only is that fixed (along with vitrual reality centres which had the same problem of dropping in effectiveness compared to its preceding building), but stock exchanges also give an influence bonus making them well worth the investment.
There are always a few grammar Gestapo on every forum, seriously lighten up forums are made up of informal responses they're not English papers.
I found I got stuck on the "processing data" popup too if I tried using firefox, this is one situation where you'll have to use IE if only for a moment.
I suspect the AI plays best at medium sized galaxies with a reasonable amount of planets with 4 or 5 opponents playing This is true, in the games I've played it seems like the AI's (im using the plural) have a great early game and good mid-game but in long games especially using huge maps (since a goo
but sometimes you have to stand for something. even if its not the best intrest. If your looking for a network (or any company for that matter) to take a "stand" it would have to be one with less to lose then CC. And then the "stand" is done as a last ditch effort for publicity rather then some abstr
Well the comedy network has the right to show or not to show a program (I'm assuming the FCC isn't involved), its not like its illegal to air a south park episode showing muhammad but its not in the networks best interest to do it....so they won't. So its not about free speech or the lack there of, its about money.
There is one minor race that it says are ruled by women... But I cant seem to remeber which one. Carinoids (or something like that?" Their leader definitely looks female to me<
Defense becomes more powerful the more you are outnumbered since it activates on every attack made against you, I'm all about the massive nearly indestructable ships, nothing like watching a single dreadnought blast thorugh 12 puny fighters without taking any damage.
What do you guys do when you don't have any ships in particular that you want to build? I've been just making constructors and upgrading my starbases since I have enough recon with the Eyes and my military/diplomacy is high enough to be a deterrence Well don't build any ships then, unused production i
As for buying mining starbases, I can't get anyone to budge on those. How much money do you need to buy one usually? Mining starbases can range in cost anywhere between 15K and 30K, a little less if they're not fully developed (assuming you have maxed out diplomacy). You need to be making at least 4
FIrst build up the cash and start buying up mining resources, this step will greatly increase your empire in almost every way. Next I'd build up military and start a proxy war on the krox or drengin, once their fleets are buzy I'd build an upgraded military starbase covering their prime planets (assuming your military strength has been neglected your fleets may need starbase assistance), take their prime planets while trying to keep most combat within
Yeah, I made a thread about this earlier as well. Appearently it's a bit tricky to program to have NLCs replace any existing research building (just one of the responses i got). But yeah having to manually replace not only the research buildings on your existing colonies but every newly conquered planet is time consuming. For those who haven't used NLCs yet they produce 22rp, while discovery spheres produce 20rp.
I play galciv2 on a 900MHz comp, 768 MB RAM and 64 MB video card I think you'll be fine, its not hard on system specs
They sure are, load up a game and check'em out. + Neutrality Learning Center added
I buy all resource starbases anyway, so it dosen't really matter to me where they are placed initially. Resources only really start to have a dramatic effect later in the game and by that time it's your own fault if you don't own them all.
Isn't it possible to go from lets say xeno labs to invetion matrix and not build every upgrade inbetween? I was under the impression it was, if that's the case couldn't NLCs be denoted as the highest research building and be jumped to in the same manner?
So I love the new neutrality learning centers and since the are better then discovery spheres they're the best research building. It would be nice however if research buildings could be upgraded automatically to them, as it stands now you have to manually decommission older research building and order neutrality learning centers to be built which is very time consuming especially late game.
No matter your path to victory, high diplomacy (through techs race bonuses are not really necessary) is almost a must on maps with 4 or more opponents; not only will you be attacked less but you can buy up techs and mining resources (personally once my economy is in full swing I buy every single mining starbase). Without racial diplo bonuses and if your an evil civ you can expect to go through a "rough patch" where everyone hates you, but di
Um, so I'm looking at this analysis again.....did you take into account that missiles do more damage at every tech level after the initial one, cause it looks like you just compared sizes while ignoring the higher dmg missiles do (even lowly stingers do 2 dmg). Check out the very last techs you'll see that a massive hull filled with missiles has a max dmg 30 to 40 points greater then one filled with the best beam weapons
Well cost of weapons is a little more complex then making a ship take longer to build, the maintance cost of a ship is based on its initial cost 2.5% of it to be exact and simply changing the sliders around won't change that. Personally I'm a mass drivers man, I like huge low maintance fleets, last game I had top military and a surplus of 25000bc a turn
Ok, sometimes UP decisions don't do much but other times its huge. Examples: the economy penalty to civs at war can be a game winner for a peaceful influencer, there is also one that grants one civ a 50% influence bonus....definitly not useless. Maybe it mets only once every 52 turns but the decisions it makes last a long time (usually at least 1 year or more ie. 52 turns minimum)
I win consistently on tough, but then again I'm a total restart whore. If I don't like the look of things I instinctively regenerate the map.
