Has anyone else run into the problem of building a ship so big that it will not let you put anymore pieces on it? I was building a Huge ship and ran into this problem..and after I saved it..if I try putting on Working Components (Engines etc.) it removes a piece of Jewelry for each one that I add.

From completely pacifistic to none stop anti-life aliens from hell that never stop fighting until someone stops them. All through the grades, races who spy, plot and backstab for their own ends, to races who really want the universe to be a political union. Yes also those who will win at any cost.. But I think that’s what makes for a fun game myself and each time a differe

1- Conquerable Starbases, see this thread: WWW Link 2- Espionage revision as a combo system, new and old. Spies + General info. Maybe a Spy training center and you can't build spies without it or something... 3- Though I'd like better diplomacy options and the ability to simply talk to the other AI races, I'd much rather prefer more variance in the planetary events that occur and the effects of choos

My personal favourite is spying on his entertainment improvements, particularly for those high population planets with low morale. Why kill the cows, if you can get the whole farm for free? If it's on an influence border, or better yet overshadowed by someone's influence (like yours), it's a whole lot more likely to flip. Make sure they aren't in an Imperial govt still though. I can't remember if it's possible to flip planets in an Imperial govt, but I know it's gotta be at least har

We've talked a bit about docking ships with starbases before here, along with starbase invasions, but your specific idea wasn't mentioned: WWW Link I like the concept of a repair facility a whole lot more than a fighter bay or a shipbuilding facility. I think that shipbuilding would be possible, but would ruin the base concept of the game, the need for taking planets. <table cellpadding=8 width="95%"

Kryo responds to this here: https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=357&aid=140836#1097780 Appearantly, there is a coding issue for the AI to determine whether or not the player is full of poop, and thus an opening for player abuse.

I had the DL show up in a game when I didn't know where the planet was that they colonized. Took me about a year and a half to get to a point where I could go looking for them, luckily they were otherwise occupied warring with the Torians and Iconians and Alterans. About when I started looking, they made peace treaties so I started to get worried that they'd come after me. I found them, some ways away from my space, with the Torians (the leaders and an ally) between me and them. They

Really, if the stats list the tech, list them next together their fellow techs. EX: manufacturing center is at the top whilst the industrial secotr is somewhere at the bottom. It seems to have no form what so ever Pretty sure it's alphabetical, but yeah, it would be nice if it was grouped by tech type and went from either lowest to highest or vic

Wow. Didn't mean to start the flame wars here. My tone was wrong. My bad, I admit it, I apologize, but you guys are continuing my mistake and it's becoming more of a personal disagreement than an issue with the game, which doesn't help game design. Irrespective of being able to determine an outcome 100% of the time with 100% accuracy, even Mystikmind capitulates that it must be done without arrogance or stupidity, which I think we can all agree that few leaders have lived wit

I cannot think of any times where this happened in history that wasn't initiated by stupidity or arrogance? So take away the stupidity and arrogance, and the result is that these people would be capable of predicting the result accurately every time! Seriously, that's probably the biggest pile of cow dung I've ever heard. It is almost impo

couldn't the warnings/comments for the human players be coded NOT to appear until certain criteria have been met This is a good point. Another options would be for the AI to use his own resources to determine the validity of the players claim and call him on it. The player sends the message to the Torians, "Be careful the Drengin are bu

I would really like to see the option to talk to another race and just tell them something, like they do with you every so often. There are obviously scripted comms in the game which these races use... what about an option in the trading window to give a particular scripted comm to someone? With the advent of trade delays maybe the trade window isn't the best way to implent this, or maybe use of it and the script being a drop-down option with the viewscreen selections or something migh

In regards to the different planet types and the tile types disappearing, I think there should be MORE tile types, and a greater frequency of them. I've had enough games with four class-18 planets and not one of them had a special tile on it. Planets need to have their own unique character to them. Give me planets with toxic regions (and not the whole planet), give me a cl

My understanding is that they always spawn this way but with pretty much every tech in the game given to them though. A few turns and they will have Huge hulled ships with Black Hole guns on them. So yeah, take them out when they show up and not so much a problem, but leave them be for a little bit and they will keel joo with bullets.

I've had this happen recently where I was in an influence boom which also put me in the final stages of an influence win. Peacekeepers came out (Drengin opened the way for them appearantly), and declared war on everyone but me, since I had no armed ships in anyone's influence areas. A couple turns later there were no armed ships outside their own areas, and I was able to also get an alliance with the Peacekeepers. The problem with this event, IMO, is that since I got the allia

Yes, I am bummed that I didn't get the beta earlier to make this suggestion. On the topic of Docking ships, I agree, it might be nice to have a Cantina module or something for Influence bases for some benefit to the ship. Maybe just a morale bonus for ships in range, instead of needing to dock it? I dunno. I'd think that the coding is a whole lot easier if they only have to give options to Transports for docking/invading, and any ship with weapons to "Destory Defenses Only" or "Oblit

I agree, I like Mega Events, but they have to be a little more moderated to prevent them from being game-ending. My major issue is that it seems the Mega Events are slanted more towards Conquest Victory build up than any other victory condition, and in contrast that Diplomatic victory seems a much more viable option due to so much more racial cooperation in DA. I'd like to see that evened out a bit more with the 3 aforementinoed Mega Events toned down a little bit and the Plague issue

If the AI actually tried to win the game, it would not be possible to win influence victories as is. You can't win an influence victory if you were at war, something that the AI can easily declare at the very last turn. They might do this, even if it were only were to delay your eventually victory. Good point, but my thinking wasn't so much that

I like the idea, but seems more suited to an RPG than a strategy game, but then again, I love RPG's almost as much as I love a good strat game. Also seems like a lot of work for something that many might consider distracting. I mean, you're really talking about a whole new element to the game. It would require a certain amount of trust in the race asking the favors and allowances by other races so you could complete the mission (or their interests in preventing the completion). <br
