Looks very nice. I was just thinking... by the time Stardock folks get done with this game it will be like 85% different from the original version. Thats simply awesome. Stardock deserves all the success it receives! Sucks to be one of those that ganked the game! us believers are being truely rewarded!! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Laugh.gif" border=0 ALIGN=

Looks to me as though there will be no advantage to attacking first... Not sure how I feel about that. I guess I will have to play it a few times to determine how much it changes the game. My first thought is that I want my surprise attack back! Yet, upon further consideration, these ships dont exist in the abstract. They are in the real world (game world actually, but you know what I am trying to say) and thus able to react and respond to ship threats and attack percentages. I mean in the real
Just me dropping in to voice my 2cents... I would buy any and all expansions or add-on packs regardless of content with the exception of one offering. I WOULD NOT purchase a multiplayer only expansion and if multiplayer IS in a pack coupled with other content, then the content that has nothing to do with multiplayer would have to be such that it would be worth the purchase. From what I hear, Multiplayer ( if offered ) would be a stand alone expansion, so hopefully no worries
Hiya everyone. Been playing the game since GalCiv2 came out, and (I know this is dumb but..) I have never understood how to make rally points work. I have looked in the instruction manual and it is very vague about the whole thing. If anyone could explain this to me I would greatly appreciate it. Understand the concept.. just dont understand the mechanics to make it work within the game. Second question... Has anyone experienced a "downsizing" of their Metaverse records.
Its not a trash can. It is a scroll. And not knowing it was so rare, I have had several of these. (had I known, I would have posted a screen shot) What I cant understand is why there are no planetary improvements for financial industries. We have research, manufacturing, food production, and influence attractions but nothing that offers a boost in money production. A few examples of money production planet improvements would be... gold and diamond mines. Because of its geopolitical / fin
I personnally use small hulls later in the game. I find that a small hull combined with maximum miniturization with powerful weapons is a great support system for planet defense. I usually defend my planets with these type of ships since they are cheaper to maintain. Since I can put more weapons and defenses on them, they are relatively a good choice for the job. I then create fleets of medium (sometimes large depending on what other races are supporting) ships in large formations to protect my
both sound and video are up to date. Not sure how to check my motherboard chipset drivers nor would I know where to go to get them updated.. any help would be great. THANKS.. for your assist
Thanks so much for the assist!!! I'm having withdrawals already!
UPDATE... I turned off anti-aliasing and auto save. The game still crashed during the move sequence. HERE IS THE DEBUG:ERR FILE IN CASE SOMEONE WANTS TO COMPARE THE FIRST CRASH FILE WITH THIS SECOND ONE Debug Message: Version v1.1 last updated on: Mon Apr 24 19:03:49 2006 Debug Message: Could not find a TGN Serial No. Debug Message: *********DXDiag info follows.********* System Info Time: 5/1/2006, 09:05:08 DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.00
Thanks, I will try turning off autosave. It may help who knows. I am not sure what AA is but I think you mean anti aliasing. If so, I will turn it off if its on. if neither of those two solves my problem, I dont see how increasing my virtual memory would hurt anything. So I will try that also... Thanks everyone !! ALSO, if anyone could take a look at my debug.err file and tell me if there is a problem somewhere I would appreciate it a bunch! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc

Hello everyone, looking for help or the very least see if others are having same problem. Since version 1.1, I have been experiencing crash problems during the move sequence. ( after pushing NEXT game moves all the pieces around ) It doesnt do it everytime, however, it does do it VERY often. I have the game set up to save every 6 moves and these intermission crashes seem to correspond. I am not a 100% sure of this but looking back I can say that the timing matches very well. I have
I would be very willing to spend $10 for the Ship Pack. I see it two fold. First, I am supporting Stardocks efforts and longevity of the product. Secondly, I am receiving a worthwhile value for my money in my opinion. I say in my opinion since I am sure some may find paying for extra content is not something that they are interested in. I think overall though, Stardock should see a LARGE portion of its customer base participate in the Ship Pack. <img
Frogboy, I dont have a URL for my Smart Exception info. I have forwarded onto stardock the game file and short discription everytime I experience a crash. If you cant obtain the information that way, I am not sure how to get it to you otherwise. At this point I would estimate that I have sent in roughly 40 or so crash reports.
I love this game, Yet it makes me sooooo angry sometimes lol. I guess I should have said I love PLAYING this game and yet the constant crashes make me insane Seems it doesnt take alot for the game to crashe either. Sometimes all I have to do is click the NEXT button for it to crash. One thing that is guanteed to make the game crash is to have an update or whatnot interrupt the game. When I
I guess that if you have your heart set on never playing again that no amount of talking would help. Yes I agree that there seems to be ALOT of bugs and I too have become very frustrated at times. But GalCiv2 is a great strategy game that can eat an afternoon away very quickly. I try to look past the bugs and enjoy the game in spite of the bugs. I am guessing that 1.1 is taking a bit longer to come out because Stardock is trying to address the majority
realize though that each upgrade is expensive and if money is short it would probably be easier and cheaper to just destroy them and get back a small credit. But the other two post here are straight on. You have to research planetary invasion first to unlock the troop transport. Once you do this you have to click on the ship you wish to upgrade and there is a small i (information) button. click it and you will see all the options available to you
I have noticed in most all my games that the planetary improvement that allows all ships the ability to survey usually appears later in the game. Given that, what good is it? I mean by the later levels of the game all anomilies have been survey already. It just doesnt make any sense. What do you think? Also are there any other improvements that seem ill timed that I may be missing?
Heard of game in Computer Gaming World back in January or early December. It was a full page ad that caught my eye. BTW... I cant seem to be able to vote either... I dont see any where to do so
Hey everyone. I was hesitant about making this post because some peeps would think the game isnt good. But I have to know if anyone else is experiencing crashes during the day? I have sent around 10 bug reports via thier SmartException debug program in the last three days. (which btw, its a cool program) It doesnt seem that there are any repetive crashes. I can be doing just about anything and it will crash on me. VERY frustrating! <img src="smiles/
Sorry it has taken me so long to revisit this post. First to clear some things up. I usually play challenging. When I said " if the race is intelligent or above I have not seen but a few successful attempts " I was referring to the race settings within the setup of the game. Not only can you set the game difficulty levels, but you can also tweak the intelligence of each of the races. When I have tweaked a race to intelligent, they rarely trad
I am not sure if this is an intentional game ability or simply a mistake. If you have very high deplomacy, you can trade money for money and send less than you get. Several things are affected by this though. First they must like you. (warm or close works best) You must also be alligned fairly close to the race in question. (IE... good to good, evil to evil etc). Also, if the race is intelligent or above I have not seen but a few successful attempts.<b
I dont know, I mean if you sent a US Cruiser into dry dock to be refitted and the job had to be done in a week, I would think that the refit would cost almost as much as the ship itself depending on what needed to be done of course.
Personnally, I have never seen an artificial slave center. I would have to guess to say that it comes from being totally evil. It should tell you in the description whether it is for one planet or all. The way it usually works is a precise statement that says for "the planet that has this built on it". Whereas, if for all planets you will read something more general like "this will increase your manufacturing bonuses". So if the description doesnt say
