You know, I just tried to play GalCiv 1 demo and it's a hard game! I followed the basic walkthrough and at the end of it I was like "no! don’t leave me now... help!" The walkthrough basically gives you the first several moves and rest is left up to you to figure out. I would imagine that all of you veterans are laughing at me about right now, but its like this... the game is information intensive and doesn’t lend itself very well to new players just trying to figure things out. I know that

Hey all, just wondering if stardock is still releasing themselves? According to Amazon.com they say that Take 2 Interactive is releasing the game. Just curious and yes, I double clicked that I was looking at GC2 and not GC1
Quote [Another thing from Civilization 4 I liked (and Soren brought up) was how you can look at a unit and tell if it has moves left. A little green dot appears if the unit has all its moves left. Yellow if it has some moves. And red if it's out of moves. This was another one of those things that I'd like to put in as a bonus pak option. The issue is how to do it cosmetically] Quote I think you could color code the windows on the ship. This would give the clean appearance you were looki
Hiya everyone, Having never played GalCiv 1, I downloaded the demo yesterday (and to be honest... I am not one to read manuals a lot. I like a good tutorial (which GalCiv 1didn't have) that walks me through the basic concepts and controls of the game. Yes I enjoy having my hand held when learning a new game lol. My normal procedure is to open game, install game, play tutorial a few times, then play game with manual very close by in case something needs to be verified or explained more. Prob
Personally, I prefer to play solo offline. I have played on line games, MMO, Diablo, and the like. What I enjoyed about those games wasnt the other people I was grouped with but the game play itself. If the gameplay sucked the game sucked. Then you add in the ??? factor with real people and you are setting yourself up for a possible horrible time. IE... members of the group arguing, members getting bumped offline, members not knowing what they are doing and getting the whole group killed, membe
Hello everyone, I have been looking over the forums and I am getting a bit concerned that there are so many bugs still left in the game so near to the release date. Does anyone in beta (I'm not) feel that the game is ready or will be ready for release ? I sure hope so, I have been looking forward to this game for a long time and since I never played the first one (never knew about it) my anticipation increases by the day. I can deal with a few bugs here or there since a bug fix should be f
Hiya everyone, In another post of mine I was told that the game would not have space marines. I would like to take this opportunity to suggest this within the game. Space Marines would be combat units on board your ship. They would be there to invade other ships or fight off invasions from your enemies on your ship. These units would be of different levels of effectiveness since it would require time, money and technology to train the unit to an elite status. Space Mar
I was reading Draginol's journal entry that there was a major update rather recently. I was just wondering from those of you that are playing the beta if the changes have helped the game come closer to a releaseable game? Is it ALOT better now or just passable ?
Hi all, just read that the only downloads that will be accepted in Metaverse will be those that have no Mods. If I were to mod only the color of my ships would this still constitute as a mod. An example would be that I may want to add small decals to my ships or an insignia. If I do this will I be able to still participate in Metaverse ?? thanks for any help..
Hey all, I cant for the life of me remember what the name of it was but I remember spending a good portion of my life playing it in the early-mid 80's. The concept was VERY close to GalCiv 2. Everything was black and white, or green maybe too... remember those green screen monitors You basically had a grid and little icons. each grid was a plate of the galaxy. You basically went around trying to conquer o
