Have you upgraded to v1.2? It's located in the Game Options...

Interesting... I've not had similar problems...
Could you paste the contents of your debug.err file?
Sorry to hear, bud.
Addman: Yes, I have. What intelligence level are you playing against? To those who think the game is too easy when you make allies... here's a suggestion... play a game without being in an alliance? Play a game where you drop out of the United Planets. That changes everything.
So what you're wanting is an in-game option to set the limit of how many techs the custom race can start the game with?
Could you paste the contents of your debug.err file?
I will alert the developers.
I will alert the developers to this thread... It sounds like the code they use to check against the UP laws is being done to "early"... it should be checked when you go to perform an upgrade with the constructor instead of when it's moving into position...
I will be sure to alert the developers to this thread...
Just out of curiousity..... What Intelligence setting are you all playing on?
So what you're saying is when you go to "Load Game", there are no games listed for you to load?
I will be sure to alert the developers to this thread when I see them come online.
We're all missing the bigger picture here. All they want is to BE human! Therefore, they eat. Well... they grow food, anyway. -.-;
The only oversight is how the system is setup. See, in an effort to con people...err I mean... provide incentive for people to play the "pre-canned" races, instead of always playing a Custom race.. they gave those races certain abilities that you cant setup for yourself, without editing the data files. They do this so people experience all of the content they created, mainly dialog. SO, what happens when you're trying to add to your loyalty bonus, you're simply resetting it b
It's possible your upgrade got corrupted. Did you upgrade to 1.2 through Stardock Central? Are you trying to load save games from earlier versions? As Moosetek says, your debug.err information would be extremely useful.
I use an nvidia geforce 5700 LE, and using the drivers from nvidia I had around 10fps while I was using Vista Beta2. That was with AA turned off and textures disabled... It was not pretty.-.-
Thank you for the update / heads up.

Opening up your debug.err file, you can see what intelligence the AI is set to... off the top of my head you will see a line similar to: Drengin => 60 The higher the number the higher the intelligence. Also, be sure to INDIVIDUALLY set each races intelligence, because right now there is a known bug that if you just set the overally difficulty to, say, Challenging, you might get a few AI at that level but mostly you'll get some easy/cakewalk level AI... <br
They are completely random. This is what gives each game a unique twist...
Okay, fellas, Im going to pre-emptively strike at this thread before it deteriorates into mindless flaming. Thebestaintyou, please do not make such derogatory posts about another player without some facts. If you really feel there is a problem, email Stardock. Please keep it civil, I wont hesitate to lock this thread and throw away the key.
You should submit a zipped up copy of your savegame + debug.err file to [email protected] - also try to give a pretty good description of how you played the game... any detail that might help them figure out why you're having problems like this... They should be back in the office tomorrow (~9am CDT)
On the contrary, all people are welcome to join the Iron Guerillas. Somebody must stand up to the Overmind.
Rasori, all that is just "fluff" made up from Brad's demented little imagination. Also, while I love the AAR's that Brad has created, I dont want to see anymore until after DA is out!! The time spent on making one of those could be the time spent on getting Terror Stars into the game. Or something. Heh.
