Diplomacy should be adjusted. Yes, good races will favor evil, and evil will favor evil, but there are ways to balance this so that the human can't take advantage of this. Let's say the good human starts taking out the evil AI's. Well, for maybe the first one or two evil AI's he gets a pass from the good AI's. But after that, his increasing power, and the threat of upsetting the galactic balance should count against him, even if he continues to conquer the evil civs. At this point p

There's a .pdf manual in the Dark Avatar directory. I don't recall whether it gives hard numbers on this or not, though. Nope, no details there. That manual fooled me because it said GalCiv2 in the file name, not DA. Thanks, though.

I've looked through the posts here but haven't seen anything on this. Is there info available on some of the bonuses for the various special abilities. For example, Superdiplomat gives you a diplomacy bonus, but how much? I've looked to see if there is a DA manual somewhere in the game files, but haven't found one for DA. Anyone know the various bonuses as applicable? Thanks.

Well, I just got my email, but I still don't have the option do download it. Stardock Central still says "Purchase"

From Stardock Central, the same place you get GalCiv updates from.

And to be honest even the slightest clunk in an interface is enough to turn me off a game. I have no intention of being caught paying retail for another MOO3. Sorry, but I don't find that believeable. I love GalCiv2, but there are any number of clunky issues with its interface. Fleet management, moving ships into and out of fleets was extremel

From what I heard on the forums, this is only a problem for the human empire. It still doesn't make any sense to me though, I don't understand why humans ship crews would be unable to figure out how to refuel and keep moving. They can refuel and they can keep moving - just at sublight speed. Node lines run between planets. If you run out of fue

Rest assured, CodeCritter is working on major improvements to the combat viewer for the expansion Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am vary much looking forward to the expansion.

For example when you complete research a box doesn't come up asking you to pick something new; you have to hear the audio announcement that research is done or spot it in the newsbar and then open up the research window. There are four cues that research is finished: 1) An verbal announcement(and with that voice I don't know how you mis

There is really only one request I have for the expansion - everything else in in there that I want. And this is what I want - I'd really like for the ship combat screen to have a more cinematic look/feel. The ships look great, the effects of their firing look great - but ship movement once they close is awful looking, I lose all sense of immersion. Rather than sweeping attacks and passes, once they get up close, they just seem to sit there and flop or waddle around = I can' really d

I could learn alot better if you used capital letters, sentences and paragraphs. Don't you understand that most people find posts like this hard to read and won't bother iwth them? I know I won't.

speaking of BotF it is still being worked on by a modding team... it actually works on winXP thanks to their patch and they are improving it further... What are you talking about? There are a few mods out there but there's not much going on. And I've never had problems running the game on XP.

They have to be on the trade list because you can demand them if you are winning a war and offer them peace for planets. As for being "easy" to build an AI to assess trades, spoken like a person who's never designed a game. Influence is just one factor to consider: What is the planet morale? Maybe you've built no morale structures on it and it's ready to rebel? Mayby the planet you want would open a new section of the galaxy to your colonization, which means the quality of the

At one point there were far to many, but now they are far too few it seems. I am only getting colonization events, none of the other fun ones.

The simple fact is the AI just won't trade resources or planets. Planets can be abused. Trade the AI your PQ 15 for his 10, but the 15 is in the middle of your empire and will return to you via influence. It's probably too difficult to get the AI to assess the value of trades like that, much less trades for mulitple planets so Stardock just said no planet trades. Same for influence resources. You think it would be fair to trade one for one, but what if you really need influence mo

My biggest problem is planetary development. I take over AI worlds with few factories and as has been pointed out, it doesn't use bonus tiles very well. Why I understand there are limits to Ai, it seems giving it a better planetary build algorithm wouldn't be all that hard. I use the same basic pattern every game, differing only due to planet size. This has been my only disappointment AI wise.

I wish for tactical combat. We've got a great combat viewer, great animations, ability to make cool looking ships, we just can't control anything at a tactical level Otherwise, the game is fantastic.

Thanks for the link, that helps alot. But doesn't answer all my questions For example, going back the the race medal - terran, alterian, custom, etc. How do you get those? Can you get all of them or does that indicate the race you play the most, or have the highest score with or what? Or what's "wounded in action" or "race victories" amon

Is there somewhere that lists the different medals available and how to attain them? For example, I've seen custom medals and have played a couple of custom games but don't have a medal. Just curious.

Duh, you do know that you can control the number of planets in the initial game setup, don't you? I think in the early builds the number of planets was far too low when you selected "abundant" - now it looks to be right. Again, want fewer planets, then select "rare" or "occasional".

Well, it's being done. You said this wasn't the beta, so don't comment on anything unless you have the latest version. Please read again, I said this issue isn't related to the beta. I am playing the beta - my point is that I've seen this behavior on all builds, not just the beta. So don'
