With all the automatation and stuff that reduces micromanagement it start to sound like Galactic Civilizations 2.... I'll try a demo but StarCraft 2 and Universe at War are still my top RTS games to look out for.

Vacation?! So you prefer to sit in a cottage in the middle of nowhere instead of talking to us and making games for us?? Hehe I've never heard before that a gamedeveloper announced that he's taking a vacation. And definetly not giving out details as to where and what kind of place he'll live in! You really seem to be one of us <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" borde
Just went back to Heroes of Might & Magic 2. Just need a mod to balance it and stereosound to work. How do you get stereosound to work btw?! The Heroes of Might & Magic profile in microsoft administator toolkit 5.0 makes the game perfectly playable but I can only have MIDI music! Switching to stereo and stereo with opera makes the music shut off and the game becomes slow.
Actually I think they're done with the brainstorming and are busy coding since you don't announce games that haven't atleast reached alphastage and they said they announce it in a few months. They also said they had good ideas on what elements from Master of Magic they want to keep so the brainstorming process can't be that long.... Why haven't atari gone bankrupt yet so Stardock can buy the rights to MoM..? Can't understand why they don't just put up the old IPs on auction....
I tried the demo of Dominions 2 but quitted it after 2mins since I didn't understand a thing. Found a guide on the devs board but it's unreasonable that I should have to read a guide on how to play a game. Anyway, that game was a spreadsheet just like GalCiv which is of no interest to me. I certainly hope the game they're making is deep, but it have to be either intuitive or have a good tutorial. And most important of all, don't make it abstract! I find no joy in spreadsheet type game
The only thing I can think of that was bad was the A.I. It always did the same things and was therefore easily predictable. Worse, it didn't use any advanced strategies at all. Though two people I know say that StarCraft was the first RTS with a new type of A.I. Don't think I believe that though.... Another thing I've noticed is that there hasn't been any mention of the A.I! Not a word! It was good in WarCraft III but perhaps that was simply since it's so incredibly
StarCraft was the first game I played on my first computer and I played it until last year. Best RTS of all time if you ask me. It simply had everything (for its time). Interesting races: Units, technologies, strenghts and weaknessess was different. And it was very well balanced according to the pros (though I thought it was broken). Fantastic story: It has memorable key characters that you care for and you don't know what awaits in the next missions. Ther's plenty of surprises and you
Hehehe Brad you can't hide from us We'll find you wherever you are
GalCiv was the first PC game for OS/2 and WindowBlinds was the first windows retail program..? Why haven't I seen that on the net before? :/
Actually I don't like scores either. I think people hang up on scores WAAY too much and only remember that. Instead, reviews should cover everything so you have to read the text so you understand how it is. I said that thing about score before just since all reviews have them.
Hmm Heroes of Might & Magic II with the mod me and some others are doing over at celestialheavens. Age of Wonders 2: Shadow Magic in multiplayer is also real good.
I'm gonna get the gold edition (TQ + IT) when I've gotted a new computer. Love Diablo II LoD in multiplayer but singleplayer is kinda boring. Same with Sacred :/ Heh, a review is supposed to have a score
I heard about it one or two years ago that the latest R6 game had become a standard run'n'gun then tactical shooter. It's really sad that all games end up being the same.... Seems it's true what Warren Spector said....the games industry is dying....

A.I commenting on your myspace, checkaccount and stuff sounds pretty scary but would be helluva fun if you give it access to specific dirs on your computer with special names and then it says things based on that information (hmm would probably start looking on my computercase to see if it really is alive....) Remembering games sounds good. Like you mostly play a special map as Highmen and the Undead say something like: "You know....your abuse of holy avengers last time was pretty cheap
2009??! I was hoping for it to arrive at January 2008! ....You can't skip that political machine game huh?
I played GTA 2 and I thought it was very funny. I think my brother didn't know about the missions and stuff as he just killed as much as he could. Then GTA 3 I didn't play until two years after its release since I had no interest in it and I wanted a bugfree, updated version. Vice City was no different, didn't play that long but I guess these games where you're so free isn't for me. I much prefer a structured environment with objectives that you have to complete as successfully as possible.
I'm a little afraid about diplomacy since if it's weak it can completely break the game (as in Age of Wonders) and even if it's smart it will still be exploited and make the game unbalanced. F.e. trading away everything in an area that the Orcs are invading. You should also not be able to trade for spells since then your starting choice doesn't matter and you eventually get access to any type of spell which makes you too powerful. And selling technlogies is also abusable. Like selling new te
Was thinking of saying this earlier, successfully resisted but I'll succumb now. I'm one of those "evil pirates" out there. When I want a program, game, app, mp3 or any type of software my first course of action is to check my DC++ rar only hub for it. If it isn't there I search the torrentsites. If it's not there either I'll ask around to see if anyone on my msn list can get it. If that also fails I check an .nfo site and ask if what I want will be released. With only
Do you mean giving orders like "stay back and protect the archers" and "full charge! Casters is top priority!"? If the troops would consist of stacks like in Age of Wonders then it would work good. A stack of tanks and magicusers could get orders like: "Defend the mages. If enemy got mages, charge! If my own range capacity is 50% or better then the enemy stack then sit back and defend". Would be much better then the AoW autocombat which was battles like the units were standing n
I believe that eventhough it may be more profitable to simply increase sales then trying to eliminate piracy, in the end it be about principle just like you don't allow people to only take one lollypop without paying.
If it's anybody but National Socialists talking about this, it's always the same reactions.... Just hope you make them goodaligned and don't use a bunch of demonising lies. See that everywhere already.
LOL! That was the funniest review I've ever seen And that coronel with his whisky But that female voice is from that american home vidoes program on TV. It's great though.
Actually, Brad said that he would make autocombat about as effective as if you fight it yourself so I wouldn't worry about that. I worry that the tactical combat will be too simple in that it doesn't do much difference if you fight it out yourself or not.
Trying the demo. It's the most strategic puzzlegame I ever played (though the hints on which block to move should be removed...makes it to easy). Definetly getting this one.
