Beating out the latest WoW expansion is a mighty feat indeed! A testimony to your masterful work! (Very few could have achieved what you did Stardock).
Is there a bit of friendly competition between Ironclad and Stardock about this?
Hehe I bet there is. Will be fun to see who wins [e digicons][/e]
Could have atleast put up a link....don't find anything by a googlesearch [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
I've read about Red Alert 3 on Gamereplays, watched betagames and stuff and I'm not getting it. It's typical C&C with very high lethality and pretty shallow gameplay and that's not enough for me. I'll get StarCraft 2 and Dawn of War 2 instead. Those two games can't possibly disappoint me (Though Blizzard also uses SecuROM....but I MUST play StarCraft 2 & Diablo 3!). And that automated e-mail support reminds me of when I e-mailed creative about why I couldn't sel
Of the OPs list, I'll certainly play the following since I'm an intelligent PC gamer: FarCry 2 Fallout 3 Red Alert 3 Sacred 2 GTA4 Waiting for the following with even greater anticipation: Dawn of War 2 StarCraft 2 Disciples 3 Majesty 2
I know for sure that the only multiplayer stuff I'd ever do with NotMoM would be a cooperative effort to beat computer players on a high difficulty level. I'm a role-player at heart, and I just prefer games that you can't really win and might not have any end other than you deciding it's over.
When I was 14 I played WarCraft 2 at my local fantasy club which had a LAN too. I liked playing the campaigns an
Wow! I thought all new games had widescreen support. Guess I don't have to hurry in getting that 25.5 widescreen monitor I wanted.
I'm in school on wednesday and the damn IT guys have blocked Stardocks site so I have to get home first to see the announcement! [e digicons]>:([/e] Excellent collection of facts, Vandenburg! [e digicons][/e] (Hey, is Vandenburg your last name?)
To quote a famous marine: "Hell, it's about time!" Can't understand why they buffed the Necrons and weakened the Orks! Necrons were too powerful and Orks were already a bit vulnerable (their buildings are shacks).
I have a feeling this will be one of their best work to date. I mean this is something mr Wardell wanted to do for a while. I can't wait to see what they have made for us. I think it will be incredible.
That's what I hope as well. Got extremely high hopes for this game....
Never before seen anything like this. Giving out internal plans so openly. First thing that comes to mind is the graphics of that screenshot of Not-MoM. Looks like Super Nintendo class graphics [e digicons]:S[/e] I got that survey and from the question "what 3 gametypes do you want Stardock to focus on" I choose TBS types all the way. Not because they're my favorites but because my other favorite genres (FSP, RTS and ARPG/RTRPG) are being made by other gamedevelopers. So I an
I think this is the first time I've ever seen a companys internal business plan. I say you're right about the DRM stance. Owners or authorities need to see exactly WHO is using the software to prevent unauthorised use. And the cdkey for updates are just grand [e digicons][/e] About the types of games that we want you to create. I thought it would be a majority for the TBS games since you are like the only company that make those types of gam
No, there shouldn't be a secondary market for software.
Gotted this pain in my stomach when I read "Civ with magic" since I want something similar to Age of Wonders. But I'm probably just sensitive.....I'll see in November.
Something like a GBoR is a really good idea. Sounds promising that Microsoft and others are interested in it. The downsides are many though. The worst one must be if it eventually becomes a stamp on boxes that has no meaning (like the THX certificate). I thought just a month ago that a THX certificate was a must for great sound. Then I talked to HiFi people and learned that it's basically useless and just a gimmick that average people think is great!
I'm guessing that Vandenberg is one of the glittering gems of hatred from NMA. I can agree that it's correct to say that Fallout 3 isn't "real Fallout" since it isn't the same genre as the two originals. If it matters is something different. Having only played FO 1 & 2 for 5mins each I can't say that much about them (Don't even know if they have music) but they seemed very stiff, slow & boring. Realtime games are simply much more exciting.
I hope that the A.I gets it's own thread (maximum difficulty) no matter if you got a dual or quadcore. And I thought the graphicscard took care of the graphics, soundcard the sound, core1 A.I and core2 physics and leftovers. I'm interested in how good you could make it look in motion. Got a feeling you could get a 4870x2 to choke if you wanted to [e digicons]:omg:[/e] Would be great if you allowed better graphics to be displayed once in a while
What sysreqs will be required to max the graphics at 60 and 75 FPS on 1280x1024 and 1920x1200? I'll be surprised if performance can get better then with a E8400, a 8800GTS (G92) and 4GB DDR2 800MHz RAM. I'm prepared to upgrade to the latest graphicscard (the generation after 4870 and GTX 280) but I haven't heard about a game that heavily taxes the cpu since SupCom. Will a Q9450 be better for not-MoM then a E8400 with overclocking factored in the equation? </p
Oh man....The first two pages are possibly the worst example of rant and complaining I've seen this far....Psychoak takes the prize though. But then again he have probably never won a match in an online RTS and can't win no matter how hard he tries. A bunch of people that are incredibly bitter that a revolutionary RTS (TA) which became their favorite was completely overshadowed by another RTS (StarCraft) that they view as inferior (and ignoring its strong points). I loved Star
Interesting conspiracies. In 50 years we will be reading about things that are happening right now and 10 years from now.
....Then get a real internet connection....;p Dial-up was useful 15 years ago.
I've been using Vista x64 since I assembled my new computer (E8400, 8800GTS G92 and 4GB DDR2 RAM) and have only had 1 hardlock. Love the transparent windows that comes up fast (but not immedietly though). Another great thing about Vista is the automatic networking, driverupdating and problems & solutions. It made internet work immedietly (A halfretarded friend called me and told me that XP doesn't make internet work immedietly like Vista does....) It automatically
With the combination of slow pace and a large tech tree, you are definitely into turn based 4x territory, if you haven't played a Turn-based 4X game before which is what it sounds like, then i can asure you they don't play like the turn-based tactical combat games.
I've always considered all turnbased games to be 4x games since I thought 4x was a denominator for how turnbased games play out. But you're saying that turnbased games are divided based on if they have tactical
