Guys and gals, my apologies in advance if this has already been covered.
Does anybody else have "problems" with gameplay immediately after loading a saved game? To date the issues I have noticed are:
1) Research and building queue counters not counting down for two turns when Turn button pressed.
2) Rare but nonetheless annoying radical changes in AI behaviour.
3) Ship models not loading.
The first problem occurs every time a saved game is loaded. For two turns the research display in the bottom left hand corner remains static (though progress is made) and the ship build queues also remain static (I don't think any progress is being made). In addition, tourism and trade incomes are reduced to zero for those two turns. During the two turns both player and AI ships move as per normal, however player ships which had movement points remaining when the game was saved read 4/0 or such like - in any case the max movement points figure is always zero (I can still move the ship normally).
The second problem has cropped up a few times in various guises. In one instance a neighbouring civ suddenly surrended to me with no warning. In another instance a neighbouring civ declared war on me for no apparent reason. These odd events usually happen on the turn immediately proceeding the load.
The thrid problem crops up intermitantly. When a ship design is over-written and you have ships of the previous design roaming around, saving and then loading the game will replace those ships with the new design. I don't know how that scenario is supposed to play out legitemately - is replacing a design supposed to be the same as an upgrade?. Anyway, sometimes the ship models do not apprear on the map (the ship appears to be invisible) and all of the ship stats are set to zero. The ship icon does appear.
