I would like to say that if U don't develope a basic stradegy U won't be able to play multiple races. U will notice I have mentioned multiple stradegies here
For the most part what worked in Dread lords and Dark Avatar works here. 2 things U need to look at right off the bat is what improvements U can biold right off the bat and what your tech tree looks like. Things that R base that U need to be concerned with is industrial research ecomic morale and later farming. it is imperative to build colony ships right off the bat. A friend of mine would rush buy them, If U do this it would help to lower your military production to zero; untill, your done rush buying colony ships, but later on U might wish U had the money. Still the more colonies U build the better.
I think it is more constructive not to rush buy ships in the colony rush. Whichever works best for U. Sometimes the tiles gives bonuses only build the right structures for the bonuses start off building a factory right away. on colonies U can either build a starport or factories first Matter of fact U need a number of factories; either 4 per planet, or 1 for class 9 or less planets 2 for class 10-13 or 3 for a ckass 14 or U can add 1 for every 4 classes above 14 whichever works. Either way remember U need to be able to afford this
After this I would like to shift your attention to the civilization screen first U need to raise your production to 100% and your approval to 100 percent by adjusting taxes, or U can adjust your approval to 70-75% I think if your approval is 100% your population grows faster and they pay more taxes all the while U need to moniter your civilization screen to later raise production as your population grows U build economic or morale structures research techs build starbases freighters or trade for economic treaties
Remember the more morale structures U build on the planets the higher your approval goes. remember on the civilization screen is where your main research social military production is devided up.
going back to planet building after the factories U put one morale structure on each planet then U need to check your expences and income if U spend more than U earn U build market places or what your species call them if U have them. Once your income is more than your expences build research if U have them if U don't have the economics build research instead. Don't worry about the farms untill U R 1 billion people below the maximum population. Then U can use the farms if U have them. Or this would be a good time to research them don't put more than one per planet
Now I think we should cover research strategies U don't have to worry about Xeno communications untill U meet someone. U should not take longer than 13 turns to research a tech. This is when selecting a tech to research after you actully spend money for research don't change tech As U look for techs the first Ones U look for is military economic research bonuses don't worry about weapons untill the AI starts threatening U.
Once U research Universal Translater and trade with other races trade with small races first their weaker and less dangerous. Next check the research of the other players at the bottom of the screen U should trade with the major races with the lowest research because they R weaker for research than the other major races first but for the treaties give yours to the small races but try to obtain treaties from the strogest and the most advanced major races first U can also trade for tech with Ip and money. Don't trade techs and trade goods with important stuff for less. After this you should trade and research for the units I described U don't have. Remember U need more than just one economic building per planet. Also remember compare what units U have with theirs to make sure the unit your getting is better sometimes the unit does the same but is cheaper also U should build the unit of a certain type that takes the quickest and upgrade to one that takes longer and is better untill U) have the best this will give U a small advantage if U dont need to don't terraform untill U don't have any more spaces U can build on but remember the Ai builds untill all the spaces R terraformed before they finish building on other spaces this wastes a lot of time
eventually U will run out of your BC U should raise your taxes between 70-75% approval and lower your production where your income is like 1 bc. gradually raising production as U go.
U should probably build your trade goods and galactic achievements on the planets with the most social production. For the most part U should not change the focus of the planet because U lose points, but at this point a social focus would help on a trade good or a galactic achievements but remember you lose some military production or research on the planet this could also be used to boost the other 2 abilities at the lost of the other abilities u will lose more than u gain
There is an optional way to play this game instead you dedicate only 2 planets for colonizing building as many factories on them as U can relocating the colony ship building planets on the outside and don't build structures on any other planets first go to the civilization screen maxing out your military production. After this you wcould need to trade with the other AIs for techs
In the beginning before the game starts you should put your ability to morale then econmics or population growth then research make sure one point goes to creativity. On parties I think the populists is the most important it helps approval but Federalists and Technologists R good But before U grab the Technologists the Federalists give 20% to the total research military and social production instead of only 20% to researchy
Different races do things differently but this should work as a generic stradegy for all races.feal free to modify based on the race or play style To give U an effective stradegy to be able to play the game with all races go ahead and leave comments remembering that the goal is 48 planets and 1000 BC per weak Also if U pick races for a challenge leave the Arceans and the dominion of Korx if U want easy take off the Thalans and the Torians To make the Drengin and Korath stronger change the AI to Generic And make the Korath abilities max out on morale population growth economics the AI play with the federalists the bests except the Torians who use the populists.
