Pretty much all US politicians are puppets to big money.

I think Obama deserves another go, he started with a huge mess, unpopular wars the US is largely commited to and the financial crisis that Bush was happy to leave for somebody else to sort out.

I am worried that he won't rock the Wall Street boat too much, and so the rich will stay rich and the poor will stay poor, but no free-market loving Republican would touch Wall Street so keep Obama in and see what he can do.

If you're lucky he'll make it so you don't need to work to pay your bills, being the good lil Robin Hood that he is.

I disagree, change isn't always good and just because some people did not like or understand what Bush did is not a reason to vote for someone who promised the world but can even provide a rock.

Obama did promise change and people fell for that line because they just didn't want Bush, not that they were gonna get him again. What most people failed to understand was what that change line , what changing how things are meant. Sure, one can take something that doesn't work and change it for something that might work better, but to go from one thing to another and still be in bad shape is not change, it's bad choice in leadership.

When people voted on Nov 2008, they were hungry. And there is a saying that when you go grocery shopping you should never do it when hingry, otherwise you end up spending more money and buying things you may not end up liking or needing.

That is definitely a recipe for disaster. Sometimes I think Biden himself could have been elected President if he had ran with the dislike for Bush being the motivation.

Obama is way too compromising. He reaches out to far to the centre instead of playing his base, which may I remind you all won him the election and more importantly had(almost has now) the supermajority in the senate. The american people want a more leftist approach(socialism:P).

Seriously? Obama won the Presidency because he wasn't Bush and the status quo. And did Massachusetts really go Republican for the 1st time in 40 years because they want a more leftist approach? I'd call that backlash against the overly leftist approach that's already being taken.

There's the reason he'll lose in 2012 - this notion that we're too stupid to realize what a Godsend he is.  People pushing this meme are doing BO no good.  Insulting voters is not usually a good way to secure their votes.

Instead of talking down the 'idiots who don't understand' he needs to respect and persuade them.  If he can't, he doesn't deserve a second term.

Charles, I dont think Leader was agreeing with the statement, only making an observation, and from one south of the border, I agree with him.  You are right about change, but he was not saying change is good, only that the electorate saw it as good.  And that is all too apparent both by his election, and rapid decline.  Even with the support of 90% of the MSM.

I isolated that one for some reasons: one- the country will be better (as in the people) not the economy...I'm from Quebec, you're in Canada....I heard (and hear still today) of many, many MANY abuses by people of that freeheatlhcare business.

10 years ago 10 hours wait in the emergency was a horror.....today 10 hours wait in the emergency room?  Holy hell, you went fast throught the line!...Yes, because lots and lots of people go to the emergency room for small things..like a cough "It's H1N1!!!!"  hurted knee "I need surgery I'm sure!" etc etc etc..if they were paying for healthlcare, I'm sure the wait won't be of 24-30 hours in the emergency room just to see a doctor.

From what I've heard and read about the health care bill here (which is definitely going to fail) was set up to force people to buy health insurance from the government at a reasonably high rate.

Obama really shouldn't be president right now. He was voted in for many reasons

1. He's Black - people (Democrats) always said it's about time we have a black president. No logic behind it, they just wanted a president who would be black for being black's sake.
2. He's Don Quixote personified - when things get bad, people want someone to tell them everything is going to be okay, even if they're just saying it without any justification
3. The Poor / Lazy Vote - From the sound of Obama's campaign, most poor people thought he would expand poverty relief programs and the like, which instantly earned their votes because they're the no good scum of the Earth.
4. Iraq - he claimed he would get the US out of Iraq. Surprise, he lied, all politicians lie, cliche, but true.

Most black people I know gave into obama faster then a crackhead to a crack rock. But what happens happens america has made their bed and now they must sleep.

The election wasn't just about Obama. It was also about an old man who said he wasn't a good economist, oblivious to how important the ecnomy would be at the time; who acted erratically several times towards the end of the campaign; who picked an unknow vice presidential candidate who botched most of her interviews and gave Americans little else to judge her by; and who in general didn't represent a strong enough break from his predecessor.

The election was an election, it wasn't liberals getting together and making a super candidate to jack off to like the chick from Weird Science. McCain/Palin was the weaker ticket, and it lost.

You know what the best part about all you guys pointing out how Obama has failed to get healthcare passed, close gauntanimo, get us the fuck out of Iraq/Afghanistan, be more transparent, etc.? You've bought into to idea that those things SHOULD be done. If nothing else Obama has shifted the mentality of the US from "if you don't agree with this shit you're unpatriotic, fuck the idiots who don't have healthcare, and onward Christian soliders, let's liberate the Middle East from itself" to what we have now.

He has dramatically transformed the political climate and whether or not he completes his objectives whoever comes after him will either tackle the important ones or getting harangued just like Obama, whether it's a Republican or Democrat.
