Wait...what?

Has that every happen to someone?  My advisors informed me that the Altarians are trying to win via technology.  I quickly began to hinder them while trying to get it myself.  I plant spies in their research buildings, I declare war on him and I sneeze in their general direction.  Being the biggest military power in the universe let me. 

And then, at last, I finish research Technology Victory and the next turn, I get a defeat screen.  What?  There should at least be a tie-screen...
