I thought of a small feature in Galciv that I, for one, would find very useful if Stardock had the time to code it into the next update.

You can pick and choose races in the game setup screen, or you can set the number of races and randomize the race choice.

It would be very useful, especially for those who have created custom races, for us to be able to, while selecting the 'random' option, pick out some races to not be included and some to definitely be included.

So if I were playing the Drath, and wanted to have a random selection of five races (far more fun not to know who's out there), I could pick that. But I could still select the Altarians as going to be in the game, because I want that Altaria dynamic between us. So 4 of the 5 would be random--I picked one. And the custom race I created as an antagonist for the last game, the Sarathi Mystics, I really don't want in this game. I want those awesome core races. But I spent a lot of time on the Sarathi, and don't want to delete them, and moving their race file every time is just a pain. So I could toggle them off, and they wouldn't be in the random pool.

I would find this really useful, and I bet others would too. So, if you like it, and it wouldn't take too long to put in, please consider my idea!
