Hi,
I have been on and off these forums a while now, I bought all of the gal civ games knowing that as an avid gamer if I wasnt keen on it initially that I would be as I got better, to explain to you I am not very good at strategy games/TBS that side of things, I am usually more into rpgs. Anyway I have also had imperium galactica 2 sitting there, now I did a lame thing I put it on easy, I am doing the Solarian campaign and it is maybe a bit to easy , on easy however Its let me understand how the research and production works and I am loving it!
Where galactic civ 2 was hard for me to get accustomed to was the fact that on land we had tiles instead of something like imperium galactica 2 where by it is very very neat to have rocket fortresses and tanks fighting in real time on the ground, man that must have been spectacular in its hay day!
On the other hand I am hoping by the time I am finished with the Solarian campaign I will have gotten out my system the need fo real time ground battles and also I realise that galciv has much much better in space fighting and I have only started with the latest expansion and it has like mining bases etc. (TOTA) Another thing, how to you folks here rate the story in the latest version compared to that of imperium galactica 2 Its just if I am going to be taking over the universe I want a few twists and turns
There isn't any active IG2 forums now so I figured some of you must have played and enjoyed IG2 so I was wandering with regards to production in IG2 e.g tank factory, spaceship factory , does having multiple of those speed up or do anything for that matter to production? The hole speeding up or increasing capacity part I dont get?
To go back to gal civ , the thing with it which always stung me bad is there are lots and lots of research options , many of which dont seem to have a significant effect, I know Im just rubbish at it its just I end up getting attacked and I am no where near researching what I need.
So I figure gal civ has more options so finish IG2 but I do appreciate the PMs I have had whilst I was away fo months Thanks for that!
