updated to 2.0, old save file crashes

I was playing just fine on my game last night.  I updated to 2.0 today and now the old save file won't load.  It either stays on the loading screen indefinitely, or begins to load and then the whole game drops.  Thoughts?  Suggestions?

Cari has said that 1.96 saves (and I believe even 1.99rc saves) are not compatible with 2.0.  There's nothing that can be done about it.  If you can roll back to 1.96 via an archive (which you would have had to previously made), you can finish your game, but otherwise, you're just going to have to start a new one.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear-how disappointing as I was writing an AAR based on my 1.96 game

Wish they'd warned us before I installed latest version grrrr

I used Windows XP System Restore to restore to a date before I installed the patch, and now my savesgames load again.  Maybe it'll work for you too.
