Just want to say, that this is not a fake or something

It is authorized by Stardock, but will have its own architecture, including Desktop application and serverside stuff. I'll try to keep you up to date through the I-Mod devblog from tomorrow on. Hopefully I can write an entry every 2nd or 3rd day. You'll find a first screenshot of the desktop application here.

Superb idea!

Now, if anyone has a copy of either X-Worlds or CoSH (or any other favorite Mods, btw) - they could "keep" tab on some performances as it pertains to the altered rule sets (or some tricky values & data) of such specific mods.

Makes sense.

When someone wants an empire to be added to the MMV do they have to request it. Also do we have to play mods in order to submit games.

No, there is a stsytem in place so each user can create an empire if they want. The idea behind it is that you play with mods, but if enough people want to play the normal game with it I don't see why we couldn't integrate that.

Technically it is no problem to integrate the normal game into the desktop application as well. If Matt says it is possible to do so in the webapp, why not?

Finally, the MMV goes into Public Beta this week, after long testing and improving.



It will start with a bundle of the best mods hosted by I-Mod Productions and will provide Mod Metaverse compatibility for all GalCiv 2 Mods who want to join I-Mod and the MMV in the future.

Good news... all i need is a stable & "final" version (at least with all intended features & miscellaneous definitive values which would impact on Scoring) of X-Worlds (possibly even CoSH) and i'll certainly ask for a slot on that once beta phase is over.

So to have your mod in the MMV you have to be a member of Imod and have the mod hosted there?

right, the Mod metaverse is a bundle of programs and web applications, that allows easy mod updating with versioning of the actual mod. It will produce file hashes to prevent cheating, therefore your mod has to be made compatible with our MMV Dev App, so it's ready to be uploaded.

Please activate your I-Mod Metaverse Account in your User CP and then visit http://mmv.i-mod-productions.com, where you can download the MMV Client, edit your account, create an empire and start competition!

Current MMV Compatible Mods are:

I tried to make an empire and I got an error message,

sry guys if you recognize bugs, we have tested the mmv for many weeks now and of course, we can't find every bug in this time.

I have written a first Guide, which should help you in the first steps of playing the Mod Metaverse.
