I've currently playing Drengin Gambit at
suicidal level. The AI is being really stupid, so I was wondering if maybe the game randomly picked really weird AI settings for it.
1) I'm at war with Altaria. I have a few weak ships stationed immediately outside their home planet. Instead of building military ships, it builds constructors and transports. Then it stupidly sends them out, undefended, where I promptly kill it with my ships. The transports have 2000+ soldiers, so I'm letting it fly out first instead of just killing it in orbit. My ships are very close to the planet. There is no way Altaria cannot see them.
When I opened a trade window with Altaria, I found that it already researched bigger hulls, better weapons and better logistics.
2) I'm also at war with Toria. It is the most advanced race by far. It has medium hulls with 26 beam/11 shield, while my best is a small with 12 beam. I have a fleet of small ships sitting outside their home planet.
Xasica is currently defended by 6 military ships, with the weakest being far more powerful than my best ship. Instead of fleeting it and destroying my fleet, it occasionally sends one weak ship out to suicide against mine.
Toria also sends out undefended transports with 2000+ soldiers.
Now I know the AI has kinda weird behavior when it comes to combat, but this feels worse than usual. I don't want to blame the AI programming or anything like that, so I'm going to assume that maybe the starting attributes are weird. Maybe it's really peaceful and has useless bonuses? I don't know.
