Will the wait be worth it

Will the huge delay in the release of the third installment of the Galactic Civilizations 2 saga be worth the wait we have had to endure?

 

Myself i am sure that once released, later today hopefully, the final product with the new updated AI that Frogboy has spent so much time on recently will be worth the immense delay.

For those of you who do not yet know what the Twilight of the Arnor has in store i would suggest you make your way to the info guide over on the GCII forums 

So what do you think on the subject? Are you looking forward to the release or are you not bothered as you lost interest durning the wait?

The wait will be worth it. From what I've read, the campaign and last minute AI tweaks will probably make the game interesting even for all of us who played the beta extensively.

I dont know if it is yet because i have not played it yet, its the afternoon now so they SHOULD be releasing some time around now.

As I said in another thread, it will definately be worth the wait. Think about it: why release if then you are going to wait more for a patch to update the AI and other stuff. A delay may be frustrating in the beginning, but you get more bang later on, and you forget all about it after you load up the game.

When Stardock's lines get swamped later on, we'll see how many thought it was worth the wait

The AI updates are pretty significant.  I will be very interested in the feedback on it.

They're in the process of uploading the package to the distributed server farm (to make sure download speeds are really fast -- this is something that's relatively new, Sins of a Solar Empire buyers were the first to make use of it).

The download is much larger than the Dark Avatar one.

Larger download = lots more info.

Lots more info = more funstuffs for US.

The new textures and movies alone would do a number to the DL size.

From what I saw in the beta what happened to the Dregin...oi the AI got a bit smarter. It'll be nice to see the Thalan play smarter though with their new tech-tree toys.

Yes, I'm looking forward to and think it'll be worth the wait.

That being said, I'm going to do my best to wait a couple weeks to allow for more patching. I pre-ordered the expansion but have yet to download it.

In the meantime, I'll continue this huge suicidal (and frustratingly buggy    ) DA Metaverse game that should keep me tied up for another week. (I'm SO hoping that the bugs I've been unable to get resolved will be resolved in ToTA)
