Why is the Altmeta not updating?

Is there anyone in particular missing/wrong specifically? The log says the last update went off without a hitch.

At least half of my ranked members are missing. It generally is in the high 200s, or above 300, but now it only shows 121 ranked members. It would be difficult to figure out who is missing specifically, as I dont track my individual member's AltMeta scores.

The Kzinti membership rank should be #1 by a far margin, but it now reads as #3.

I've been anticipating breaking 40 million soon (perhaps today or in the next couple days), so the 35 million score was a surprise.

At least half of my ranked members are missing.

Once someone hasn't submitted for 6 months they fall off the end of the Altmeta. Are you sure that isn't the case here? After all, when you dredge up the bulk of your membership from defunct empires it shouldn't be much of a surprise when their points start expiring.

BTW this is primarily intended as a good natured ribbing even though there is an element of truth behind it.

No, the "total membership" count is way off too, not just the "ranked membership". I havent lost any members since yesterday, yet our total membership rankings went from 1st to 3rd since 24 hours ago. I'm well aware that scores depreciate to 0 after six months. Obviously something didnt work right.

Back at ya Mumble... When are you going to finally jump ship from the mostly-defunct empire your main character currently calls home? Mag apparently already saw the clear writing on the wall.

Actually my Bruce Lee character has been with ToE for a couple of months although I'm still working on his first game. I'll leave my main character with the Diplomats until bringing over an extra million or so points makes a difference.

Also how much do you want to bet that I can't be #1 in the MV with my new character in only 2 games?    Well, maybe it might take me 3 games.   

BTW it's nice to have a bit of good natured taunting between the empires like we have in the MVL, don't you agree?

I'll take that bet, Mumble - no chance with 2 games, 3 a possibility only if the target doesn't get much higher!

I'm generally aware of member fluctuations and defections among my competitors...I keep a close eye on a lot of things, including membership count of the Kzinti, ToE, and Dips. I remember that you joined two characters to the ToE several months ago....the Patriarch sees much...spooky!

I'll bet on three games Mumble. You would probably have to break Mag's record to do it in two if my understanding of the scoring is entirely accurate. Certainly you have a chance though. I'm rising (albeit slowly) towards #1...so neither of you go submitting too quickly ok? If only I would focus on just one character, but alas...cats are not known for their long attention spans. Hopefully will have a 400k or so game completed by the weekend for my third character to keep him solidly in the top 25. My system is having trouble with huge all-abundant though. Next time I may have to dial it back down to common habitable planets to ease up on my computer.

Yeah, two 1 million point games would result in a MV score of *only* 1.5 million and that's not quite enough. Three 1 million point games would be worth a tad over 1.9 million. At least until the games start depreciating.

And while AFAIK Mag does have the DA record with 975.8K, I have the DL record of 957.5K.

I'm currently playing the Drath which have an extra 50% defense bonus so as long as I get my expected 6 econ and 6 military resources, I have about the best chance as I can imagine to reach the 1 million point threshold given that my primary source of points comes from military defense values.

Anyway there hasn't been this much life in the MV in quite awhile.

The clearest indicator that the last AltMeta update wasnt entirely successful is that All-Time points total of my empire dropped by about 7 million, without losing any members. My empire roster stands at 381 (on the official MV), which was the same as yesterday at this time. Hopefully the problem can be located....thanks Kryo.

Hmmm...I had thought Mag had every record in existence. But kudos to you Mumble for the DL record!

And yes, the comptetion for the top spots has been really quite intense lately! I never dreamed I would be competing with that elite crowd.

You and me both KP! I was happy to get into the top 25 using the ZYW's but the temptation to go on was too much. My goal now though is to gain number 1 using my BMF character which is for my mumbler style games. It seems far more satisfying to have ~10 games under your belt and be #1 than near on 400...

It is great to see the state the MV is in at the moment, i don't think iv'e seen this much activity since the HCH, Orcas and Diplo's feud. I'd like to think the MVL had a small hand in keeping the MV alive and kicking so this resurgence was possible.

I'll have to bet on 3 games Mumble, as much for the fact that the #1 spot may well be closer to 1.7M than it is now by the time you get that second game completed. Though # 1 in only 3 games is by no means a small feat, it would be quite and achievement if you do manage to do it. My BC is on you to succeed though.....

Hmm all this taunting and it's in an out of the way thread, perhaps a dedicated ToE VS Kzinti thread for all our taunting needs.....

With my Devilcat character, I've got about 80 non-ZYWs under my belt, so I hopefully it will be satisfying enough if/when I get there. Still thinking about it...

Looks like it updated correctly today. My Kzinti Empire is back to over 42 million, which seems accurate.

It seems to have not updated properly again. I'm missing about 300 of my 320 ranked members and about 25 million points.
