Although my monitor reports to GCII a max res of 1600x1200, it has a functional max res of 1280x1024; anything above that and it goes into panning mode. I've switched back to 75hz just now, as I hadn't noticed it was still at 60hz, having just reinstalled my video drivers 2-3 days ago, but I doubt that was the cause of the problem.
