I double-checked the level 3 manufacturing facility for the Thalans, and they don't give any boost over the level 2 structure (this makes sense, as the structure is already as powerful as the industrial sector, and level 3 merely gets the price down to normal). So only the level 3 research structure needs to be given a proper description.
I am concerned about tech trading. Maybe I'm just imagining it, but it seems like everybody was trading techs like mad this version. The end of the weapon trees were researched incredibly early on, making the early and mid games more about industrial production than technology, and defenses are paramount this game - whoever can produce the most ships with proper shielding and weaponry wins. Also, most everybody has all kinds of unique techs - weather control, navigation stations, arenas, healing pools, etc.
I'd like to see more unique techs on the "no trade" list to make the trees feel like they matter, or at least make them
much more expensive to trade.
