Anyway, basically I had a game in which all the colony ships where produced only on Earth. I also wanted to make an AAR on this game but I had to come up with an explanation of why the colony ships where only produced on Earth. This is why I made the Solar Culture Theory.
The S.C.T. is simply this. All colonists share a common mass/pop culture that come from the united planet(one gov.). Even though the colonists might have a different cultural traits, they are still dominated by the common mass/pop culture of the united planet at the time of the colony ship launch. Still while the colonists are in stasis(or whatever) the culture of the original world changes. When the colonists establish their new colony their mass/pop culture hasn't changed since they left. This already causes the two worlds to be different. Then the new colonial culture evolves differently from the original world due to the new environment and geography. Now if the second world built a colony ship, all the above would apply but the third world's connection to the first world would be even weraker. Eventually if this process kept happening the newer colonies would soon lose all cultural connections to the origional world and be more likely to rebel/resist the rule of a world they feel they have no connection to. This is why a homeworld(most likely center of gov.) would want all colony ships built on it. This is so that they can keep cultural ties to all new colonies as strong as possible and minimize the risk of rebellion.
Even though this can't happen in GalCiv, I thought it could be a very interesting part of a future AAR or any other type of G.C. fanfiction. So this is just my basic question? Is this plausible or just a bunch of crap? I would like to make the theory more realistic. If you want to make any suggestions, I would be glad to hear it. I mean the name could be changed to make it sound more accurate or any other improvements would be welcomed.
Thanks, M.C. 13
