Beta 3C Delayed 1 Day

Hey all, I apologize for the delay.  But we had a lot of changes in this build and we decided that it would be better to wait until tomorrow to put up the next beta so that we have a little more time for internal testing.

Looking forward to the new release... not sure if is my "ingrained" tendency to play humans, but as I have been playing the revamped races in TA (current game with Krynn) I keep on getting creamed big time, mainly because I run into financial constraints.

I guess the game is still being balanced, and I still need to figure out the best approach for each race.

Looking at the recent release of the Drath & Korx back stories....I'd have to go with Drath & Korx.

Agreed It will have the Drath & Korx obviously but I think they may have something more for us in this beta update as well.

I am hoping we will actually see a need for coping with the AI and their particular tech flavors.
It will mean that you will have to change strategy depending on your neighbors versus ending up with them farther away.I want to try making those races that get military strength early super aggressive in their stance to help emphasize that advantage.

Would also like to see more specific race mini mega events such as
Your diplomat has committed a grave social error with the x race.Diplomacy skill with x is lower for x nmber of turns.
As far as I can tell now the only way to counteract diplomacy is to increase your diplomacy skill.
Or the Korx have invented the virtual hoola hoop.Trade and economic treaty values are boosted by x% for x number of weeks.

And perhaps a UP vote for who can set the lease values later in the game to fuel economic and military growth.

As a long time computer user and a beta tester, I appreciate the problems with adding so much so fast. Right now I've decided that the best approach for me is to play each of the new races and not to worry about the glitches. That way, when they finally relese the final, maybe I won't embarass myself. Take your time. Right now there is so much that is new that I am having a good time discovering the duhs, as in duh, why didn't I do that LOL.

This could be interesting... The first thing that comes to mind is the plague event. It's always bugged me that the Yor are effected. If this were implemented the plague event could be taylored so only certain races are effected. Other events, such as a computer virus for the Yor, could be created to spread the love...so to speak.

Another example might be an event that stalls military production for a time. For some races it could be a worker strike, for others a raw material shortage... One could get really creative with these.

In TA, the Yor are immune to the plague event

With a bug fix that kept miners on automate stuck to asteroids that happened in 0.92(.003

I'm not seeing any new versions, any idea why they would not show up for me (I do have the pre-order version, updated to .91b.001).

Edit - Nevermind, figured it out, I was set to the US-2 server.
