Trying the new Twilight of the Arnor beta (which is mighty impressive, to say the least), I came by a small idea, which might have been suggested before (I apologize in advance if it did): If anyone played Supreme Commander, the game's interface allowed you to zoom all the way out and then zoom all the way in to the location of your mouse cursor, which allowed the player great maneuverability on the map.
It's just a minor gripe of mine, but it would be pretty cool if you could do that on GalCiv as well. Having to scroll is not that big of a deal for a Turn Based game, but I still think it might really streamline everything.
Furthermore, I really wish for a way to limit the exchange of the new unique technologies between races. Not only this is not really realistic (what would an organic race do with a Yor technology? Just an example), they also pretty much mess around with the overall strategy of a race and also supply you with too much buildings that do more or less the same thing, but a then again very differently. The outcome is a mishmash of Terran Alliance technologies with Iconian technologies, mixed with Torian ones, which really confuse the player (have you seen the available buildings' list in such a game? It's daunting), bogs down the game, and really ruin the gameplay experience and "feel" each race gives. There should be an option to either disable unique tech-trading only, or any other solution for the issue, in my opinion.
