A brief list of what this upcomming TA beta encompasses?

Since the beta is pretty much done, can we get a brief list of what it encompasses?
have ground combat animations been updated for this first beta? Is this first beta essentially just the 3 tech trees and the new planet improvements that go with the new techs and nothing else? Are there new ship components comming with the 3 new tech trees?

The focus is on the first three tech trees as noted in the schedule. If you get more than that, I guess you can be pleasantly surprised

Sir, respectfully speaking so I don't get Frogged to Death (I do think Frogboy would make an excellent soldier - I can tell he is the kind of guy who doesn't take any shit from anyone, and is not afraid to be "politically incorrect" in this wussy age.), since the beta was set to come out today and Frogboy said it was finished for the most part, why can we not get a brief list of what it encompasses? Why the secrecy? Why the hype? This game doesn't need the hype or the secrecy, because this game could kick even Halo 3 ass.

God that game was so hyped up. Its fun, but Jesus.......

The beta is really just to get the SDC side running and get the first wave of techs into player hands, so this first list is going to feel a bit dinkey....

+ 3 new race specific tech trees (Drengin, Terran, and Arcean)
+ New improvements for these three races
+ AI tweaks to compensate for new Tech Trees
+ Shiny New UI
+ New Title Screen and Music
+ New Ship Components that effect Fleet Combat and Ship HP
+ A Handfull of new Alein Portraits to use for custom races
+ New textures for Starting Planets
+ All 1.8 changes implemented (sounds small, but when working on two projects, the merging process can be a pain and is worth noting)

So no Terror Stars, Campaign, Editors, Invasion Screen, or Tournaments. However, subsiquent Betas should be significanlty meatier   We just want to get all SDC kinks out before really sending out the goods.

Can't wait to get the beta into your hands!

Y'know, with the new race-specific tech trees, is it recommended that testers only play games with opponents who also have race-specific trees? It seems like playing others would be unbalanced and may (probably not if I know how the AI works decently) disrupt the AI.

I don't really have a problem with it if that is the case, but it's better to know ahead of time that I shouldn't be setting races to Random.

I would think only those 3 races would be in the beta not the others?
