well, my concern is plainly the spat between you and fire that's carried into several of the league's threads. for starters, mumble, you stole Fire's thunder; he's designated to gather, tabulate and announce the scores, "neilo's approval notwithstanding."

i don't disagree with the validity of most of your subsequent statements, but the necessity. you specifically focused on his age rather than his behavior, and that was uncalled for. and Fire, if you're overly concerned that i'm stepping in to defend you, that isn't the case - arguing back and forth requires two people, and beyond that mumble's "advice" (however poorly couched) is worth consideration, especially in light of the fact that you occupy a leadership position in the league (however small that may be in the grand scheme of things).

dammit guys, this isn't why i joined the league. frankly i could give half a rat's backside who wins a given round; i was more eager to hear the next round's settings than the outcome of this round anyway.

so chill the frack out. it's not fun for anyone when people bring this kind of social garbage into a game. it's why i don't play MMOs.

For one this is not the first round with such scoring issues and by "stealing Fire's thunder" I was doing my best to explain how scoring was supposed to occur.


The validity of my argument is the point, if anything I pointed out was incorrect I'd be happy to discuss it. As far as his age it's superfluous, the only reason that I mentioned it is to point out that I would generally bend over backwards to tolerate silliness in otherwise confusing situations except that it's obvious it has become the rule and not the exception.


In point of fact I personally don't care if I win or lose or whether my team wins or loses. However I do care if such winning or losing is done facetiously by ignoring rules that have been extensively discussed and agreed to.

All in all it's the continuing nature of these issues that is most bothersome. It seems that there's always one thing or another that's being misinterpreted and has to be re-stated, re-argued and re-discussed. I’m sure we have at least 50 posts in one thread or another that discussed how the 5th and 6th player would be treated this round. At this point I’m simply too tired of the whole issue to go back and provide the links and quotes. That’s basically the gist of my issue, I’m tired of being forced to point out all the things that have already been decided to ensure that the things that have been discussed get implemented as originally decided.

If people feel that I’m in the wrong let me know because I really don’t need the aggravation, I certainly have better things to do than to scan through a half dozen threads and literally hundreds of posts to point out how things were done differently than previously agreed to.

I think no matter what rules and scoring system we have we will often have some problems at various times. Obviously this can be something we can address and i hope that my nomination of Mumble as a score keeper along with myself and Fire may go toward resolving this. (see round 3 thread)

What i do not want to see, and this is what i feel is far more important than the actual scores, is to have players leaving due to arguements. I really hope we go into round 4 with everyone on board and that no-one feels the need to discontinue playing.

Far be it from me to tell anyone here what to do, but other than debating rules and the future of the league, any debate here will only harm the league.

I echo silvers thoughts of moving on and continuing the fun of the league.

Now on to an issue of round 4 that i would like input on. We know we need to move the players around to form team E, but who gets included for that reshuffle.

Should i just input everyone into the random generator and do it that way?

Or,

Make up the team with the the 6th players first and then the fifth?

I like the first idea, might shake up the teams a little.

This may be a good way to go... BUT what if yoour picked last   That would almost hurt my feelings.

I would leave the choice of captain up to the members of Team E.

As for this idea, i for one like it. I'd be happy to go with this, but of course i will stand by the majority of players.

That being said i am still a fan of random selection too.

And while I second Mumble's praise of PlayJeff (who also is a member of the Tyranny with me, and great fun in there, but we also both like a good beer, watching stargate, and making fun of Quebec soooo) let me be the first to say that I would enjoy playing alongside any single one of you, and that a *true* winning team, isn't necessarily the one with the highest score but the one that enjoys it all the most

EDIT: y'know the funny thing is, in RL, I am NO where near this cheesy or "nice" when I talk, sometimes I look back over my posts and go "what I wouldn't give to use a good solid swear word or just tell ppl to STFU." oh well

An alternative way to deterine the order of the picks would be to do something like some sports associations do, where team with the least points from the last round/season gets first pick. I think either way has pros & cons, and I'm happy with either, but I thought I'd put the idea out there.

As for draft vs random assignment, I'd prefer a draft of some sort, so that teams will theoretically be somewhat balanced.

I think we are getting a consensus here with the draft..what i would like to do is to have every team get two draft picks. These are made in the reverse order suggested, but based on the ladder (which i will update in a minute) not just last round.

Beyond the two draft picks i will randomly place the rest of the teams.

Two points though.
1. The current captains would be discluded from the draft..someone has to do the picking.
2. I will have to choose Team E's first player and captain, and of course having no points, they would go first. I can do this randomally or just pick Silver as he has shown interest.

As for the individual to be captain of Team E, since i was named as the preeminent candidate, I recuse myself from that part of the vote and will respect the decision of the MVL members and the Commissioner.

I have thought about this and my solution, though i ahve not said it yet, was to reset the scores and points for round 4.

Only seems fair in the long run, there would be no way team e could compete with a 3 round disadvantage.
