I believe the real quation should be, who would participate as player ?
A very good point, and certainly players are invited to voice their opinions.
I also would like to know, how it works in general.
In DA 1.6, Stardock introduced a new feature whereby at the end of every non-meta game, a XML file is produced detailing endgame stats. In 1.7, they will add a few measures to prevent cheating. The MMV relies on users uploading that XML file so that they can be ranked.
Unfortunately, there is no way to use the file to tell what mod was used, so for now users have to pick from a list and will just have to be trusted to tell the truth. There is no way to tell if the mod's original files have been edited.
And one more question... Lets say you include Mods A, B and C... will every palyer on the MMV have to play with all A, B and C ? or will players be able to choose - let's say use A and C but not B ?
Players will be able to choose what mods they use. A player could, actually, play with A and then submit it as B, but there is no way to prevent this.
And I'd like to inform everyone that I am only doing this in my spare time, and that it is actually my first PHP project, so don't expect something as polished as the official meta, although I'll try my best

.
