I need help! I designed new textures to go on some of the spherical/ hemispherical GC2 jewels. Unfortunately, the original meshes are too course and irregular, and the results look pretty lame. I have tried three different 3D graphics programs, and the learning curve is just too steep for me. These should be very easy for a real 3D designer. If someone could make the -.X files for these jewels, I would be eternally in their debt.
1: a sphere that attaches to harpoints at its center, no hardpoints, in the approximate size range of the original "light" jewels
2: same as 1, with a normal size range (ala the modules);
3: a hemisphere that attaches at the center (of the original sphere), and extends maybe 10 degrees past the equator on all sides (so there aren't any gaps under it when it attaches to a surface), in the approximate size range of the original "light" jewels;
4: same as 3, with a normal size range.
TEXTURES: Each would have two textures, one centered on the north pole, one on the south, with their edges meeting at the equator.
POLYGON COUNT: enough that the shape of the texture isn't significantly distorted. Sphere approximations (like the ones in Blender) would be fine.
