New/Additional Minor Races

Hi there, so Ive been reading a bunch and playing around mostly with graphics for about two months now, notably I havn't seen too much about minor races, other than just a few new graphics...

Well I became realtively bored with meeting the same races over and over, so I have created additional minor races, as a result the game still randomly picks a bunch, but form a larger variety of races now, Also the cheat command Ctrl+Shift+D will spawn as many minor races as the game has IDs for, (Seemingly) so I have been able to have games with up to 20 minor races or so... Thats pretty exciting... the problem being that minor races are usually a boon not a hindrance...

anywho I was wondering if there is any interest in this area, I was think of producing about 30 or so minor races and putting it up for download... oh and despite playing around with custom planets I cant seem to give the poor minors their own unique homeworlds... so help with that would be awesome, thanks.

I would love for you to UL all them Minor Races, I to am like you I get board with the same races over and over. I aswell have been working on some minnor races from the old Starcontrol 2 game.

They are minor races. They only exist to be exploited.

well judging by the volume of topics you can find by searching Minor Race that state how un-cool thats been I kinda disagree

honestly they should be able to span to say three colonies and actually build some useful ships... as opposed to just kind of wait for their extinction.

If its something purely to be exploited than it might as well be a galactic resource.

I have had some luck with using minor races to my own benefit. I have "adopted" a minor race, traded extensively with them, given them ship and weapons technology, and then "asked" them to attack another major race. I had to give them a planet in their own system, but they did attack the Altarians just in time to distract them from my attack on their ally.

I would love to see additional minor races, especially if you can adjust their "attitude".

well i have made more minors (about 10?) and the mod is currently up for approval...

I tried to adjust attitude by setting the alignment, which determined good/neutral/evil
and by setting their personality AI, to say 8 (human) or 11(Korath?) IN addition to this I inserted a line for aggression (the one for custom races AI)...

However I believe that their actions are sadly hard-coded to be fairly un-aggressive...

The Minors are as such:
Stayed the Same
Scottlingas
Snathi
Paulos

Replaced Pictures
The Carinoids
The Akillians
The LentzLendians Became the Hydranoids
The Jessuins Became the Tellu'uins
The Dark Yor Became the Collectives

New and Additional Minors
The Carok
The Jawas
The Motar
The Zurga Teluka
The Felug
The Bios
The Reptilor
The Pexi

In addition to this there are the minor races that can sometimes occur such as the Vegans, Artvardians, Paridians and such, they are randomly determined and I havn't changed them. So to sum up I changed 5, and added 8! For those 13 there are new pictures.

I love the pictures of the new minors. Are some of them from another game? If so, which one(s)?

none of them are from other games that I know of... most are actually findable on the internet... glad you like them
