The developers have stated that possible multiplayer is a matter of resources. Therefore, I am creating this thread to maybe give an incentive why hotseat would be a good idea.

I am a big fan of the original game. However, after playing it for two months or so it began to become stale for me, even with the improvements over the mayor patches. How so? I was missing the possibility to play hotseat MP with friends of mine at my computer. Hotseat has been a staple of games like Master of Orion 2, Civ II-IV, HOMM, etc.. While I understand the preoccupation of the designers to make the best single player game possible, I also want to say that hotseat prolonged the longevity of those games by the factor of at least four to five, and it did so for all my friends who used to play them over the years.

I already read the relevant posts by the devs, saying that maybe I should look at Space Empires IV, but what I really want is to buy the game Galactic Civilizations 2 from Stardock - with hotseat multiplayer.

Well, money speaks. While I like the features added by Dark Avatar, I will *not* purchase it until it is confirmed by the devs that the next expansion (will include the option for hotseat multiplayer, with confirmation that this expansion also *will* happen. I repeat, the lack of hotseat multiplayer is what keeps me from immediately plunking down my money for Dark Avatar. No, the cheat for "hotseat" is not what I want.

I encourage others with the same opinion to also post in this thread, so that maybe Frogboy or the other devs will take notice.
