Performance Low End Rig

firstly performance on my PM 1GZ, 512RAM, INTEL 852/855 GM/GME much quicker - nice! in order to play previous versions i had autosave, software cursor, and point sprites disabled. i can play with autosave and point sprites enabled, but the software cursor appears to still occasionally crash the video driver? fyi. lemme know if you want a debug.err
