The reason I'm posting a new thread on the saved game crashes issue is that no existing thread in the bug reports section had exactly the same issue as I do.

I started having problems loading save games after installing DA 1.50X. I am using no mods of any kind, and have changed nothing except a few settings in the in game options menu. At first I thought it was all saved games that got corrupted, but recently I discovered that is not neccessaruily the case. I was able to start, save, and then re-load several 'test' games without difficulty. Thinking maybe, somehow, the problem might have righted itself, I started a new game and got pretty far along in it. All the while I was saving/loading with no problem.

Then, just recently, I tried to load an autosave game from the in game menu and it crashed, the same as before, before loading completed. Trying again from the DA start menu, the same thing happened. When I loaded a much earlier save that I created myself (ie not an autosave) it loaded without problems.

This may mean 1 of two things. That there is a problem not with all save games but just with autosaved games crashing. On the other hand, it might be that all saved games crash after reaching a certain point in the game (ie, a particualr tech researched, a level of CPU intensiveness, a mega event, a ship design created or obsolessed, or any number of other things).

Needless to say it is quite frustrating. I understand that all games have bugs, and it takes time to work them out after they're reported, but I would appreciate some feedback from a moderator or dev regarding the issue, at the very least acknowledging that it is a recognized problem.
