Hi guys !
As a good Stargate fanboy, i'm making my own pack of features / races, etc... and for better inter-connectivity structure, I decided to put it into a mod folder (\Mods\ and not \...).
Unfortunately, the first thing I tried to do is importing my custom races, but I can't find the way of importing them "As I would like to"...
I would like to put my customraces that were usually in the my games\gc2darkavatar into that mod structure in order to make my path specified in xml files relatives to the mod dir instead of my games\gc2darkavatar...
1) If I rename my customracexml files to xml and drop them into the "CustomRaces" folder, I can't load them once in the game...
2) If I drop the radeid and civtype lines from xmls and add them to RaceConfig.xml, it replaces the basics game races, and that's not what I want... I figured that this file seems to deal with the customraces folder to get the trade portraits data.
So, my question is: Is there a way to get my custom races acting just like custom races, but being relative to the modpack and not the user gamedir?
Oh, and a 2nd (stupid) question, is there a better way to make a technology become "Race-dependent" than making your technology requiring a "foo" technology that itself Technological Victory and giving the "foo" technology at the start of the game by specifying it into the race xml ?
