DA shipyard upgrade bug?

Not sure if anyone has posted on this yet.

When you want to upgrade a design, like just adding different engines or weapons, the ship designer in DA resets everything to just the hull. In DL it would keep all the equipment on the previous build and let you just take off what you wanted to change. Is this designed to stay this way in DA? If so, I don't like it as it adds a lot of extra work whenever you want to update a design.

No, it's a setting in options, been there before DA. Something along the lines of "Remove all functional parts when upgrading".
