Will DA include 'no surrender' option?

I know that DA lets you customize other races, will any part of this include the ability to switch off or tweak the surrender function that the AI uses? I have issues with that particular feature, and I think it's something that would make the whole game much more fun for certain playing styles. Also, is it possible to jack up loyalty bonuses to the point where it effectively shuts off planet-flipping?

Fourth from me. It's just too annoying to have the last few planets surrendered to a friendly race - especially if they're planets you want!

modified surrender... they become your thralls.. but if you abuse their people too much.. then can try to rebel... and start on a path of a minor trying to be a major (hence slightly modified minor behavior.. or at least ass another AI code to make a different type of minor).

Yeah and sometimes it makes no sense. I dont think the surrender decision making is ideal and so if that is not going to be tweaked further (Im not expecting many if any more full updates), so a disable this option (for non metaverse) would be a great little addition (if possible).

I wouldn't mind them surrendering to a friendly race, but I'm Good and I'm fighting a Good race (they declared war on me to begin with) and they surrender to an Evil race they hate. That bugs me.

especially if they're planets you want!


The moral here is to attack the most desireable planets early - then if the other planets surrender to someone else, you can probably culture flip them if you don't want another war yet.

I find the best way to get the AI to surrender to you is to completely destroy its naval power, and have lots of ships in his influence zone, but *not* invade any planets.

I find the best way to get the AI to surrender to you is to completely destroy its naval power, and have lots of ships in his influence zone, but *not* invade any planets.

Often enough you can even ask for all their planets as a "peace" treaty once all their ships are gone and you have some transports nearby. Saves you a lot of trouble - and a lot of transports for the next victim!

There are some good ways to use surrendering to your advantage, but the problem is that, for a lot of players, it messes up the story. I don't like the idea of one race immediately becoming indistinguishable from another, and I hate having to end a war because it was going too well. Any word from Stardock on this one?

On the other side of the coin, I'd like to disable the surrender option as I like to defend the underdogs and try to keep all races in the game longer. I'll expend a lot of effort pouring money into a weak race's economy, trading with them, sending fleets of ships to their defense and going to war against the aggressor. I'll have my fleets in a position where there is no way the attacker can do any more harm to the underdog and three turns later... they surrender to some random race. That's very annoying.

Ok. Now thats it... if I wasnt the major power id be really annoyed.

The last dozen of Torian worlds surrender to the Drengin and say that ''they will protect us from your wrath''. You can just imagine my reaction there. Thats what sucks about the surrender, its completely random. (For those who wonder ive now about doubled my power from that point, and will soon quadraple it).
