After upgrading to 1.3 the game has slowed to a crawl. First i used Stardock Central to update. The game loaded fine, started a new game and while in the appearance tab i noticed the ship in the preview window was really sluggish. Started said game and thats when things slowed down, way down and unplayable. It seemed like there was no hardware acceleration. Music and sound was fine but the graphics just chug along.
So i decided to uninstall and then reinstall, downloaded the full patch and applied. Did a full defrag and maintenance, rebooted and still the same.
Now just to make things clear, 1.2 ran perfect. Good frame rates and very rarely a CTD. I admit my system specs are low but the gane runs perfect under 1.2. Basic system specs are:

I know my vid driver is old but i have also upated to the latest from ATI and its still the same. I rolled back to this driver because Catalyst 6.5 is a resouce hog and i dont like the "control center". I like the "Control Panel" in this driver but they force CCC on me with 6.5. Any suggestions on this issue will be appreciated!
Like i said, the game just crawls with 1.3 and i was really looking forward to all the improvements. I hope someone can help me with this but if not, ill stick with 1.2 until the next patch.
One more thing is the 1.3 betas did the same thing. I reinstalled to 1.2 every time and all was fine. I dont mind reinstalling the game if i have to, i like watching the Race pictures during the install. Wish i could use them as wallpapers!
