I just installed a fresh copy of GalCivII and update 1.2 on a fresh install of XP. Now, when I try to start the game I get the message "The product appears to be validated but the serial number or the machine SID don't match."


I have a ligit copy of the game (Bought it about two weeks after it came out!) but because I'm an overclocker, I change out my computer hardware quite often. This install is running completely different hardware for example. Am I getting this message because I've changed my hardware? As I recall, I installed a copy of GalCivII about two weeks ago on the old hardware and it ran fine.

Any help would be appreciated
