Hi,
I only wanted to drop some lines on the AI, I notices some thing that could/should be changed. I know you Stardockians are full of work, but maybe some things might be possible to be changed in one of the next releases.
Transporterrush
In tiny and small and sometimes medium sized galaxies you can easily win by fast researching planetary invasion and then build some transporters, you only have to research one or two (depends on the map) techs of live support and then the rest of research is spend for propulsion. When doing this, you have the transporters on the enemy homeworlds before they build a single ship. No need to say that this is the end of the AI.
The AI should have one ship in orbit of his homeplanet, this should has to be bought at least when any transporter enteres the own influencearea, normally you'll need more than one turn after this to reach the planet, so there should be enough time. By doing this this initial drops can be avoided.
Burned Earth
The AI seems to destroy all infrastructure when there is an transporter in orbit of a planet without any defences. This results in the following problem: Even if you don't invade, the AI bombs itself into Stoneage. You can win the game by simlpy sending a Dropship to the enemy and let it one or two turns next to his planets, his industrial rating will drop extremly.
Don't let the AI use burned earth-tactics on all planets, there should be one planet minimum where the AI can build ships. I know this could be an advantage for the human player, because he is able to capture more planets with buildings, but at the moment the AI is completely lost without any production buildings.
Greetings
