Do the dreadlords appear in the custom game?

A newbie question about races

Just bought GC2 last weekend so I was wondering if the Dreadlords only make an appearance in the campaign or do they also appear in custom games. I've tried searching the forums but didn't come up with an answer.

No, I don't think so. I've certainly never seen them, and I remember somebody requesting that they turn up, which suggests that no, they don't.

They will, however, be present if you play the 'Dread Lords on Parade' scenario (obviously).

Dread lords on parade is more of an option in the custom game than a scenario in itself even though its grouped with other scenario's. It doesnt have all the similar constraints on what you can and cannot set via the options menu like some of the scenario's do. It isnt restrictive in what you can do with it at all.

Make a custom race and edit the raceconfig file to have ship type and module type = 5.

The Dreadlords option is on a drop-down spot on the left side of the screen, just below the galaxy "picture" window. It holds the Dreadlords on Parade, and a few others to choose from.

If you are reffering to the custom list then I just don't see Dreadlords on Parade. Other than that I just don't get it. Please elaborate.

Wrong. It's the scenario box that has DL on parade. Top right corner, normally says "normal"

well, the Kryos shipbuilder mod supposedly has the Dread Lord hulls available, so you can look at them there. unless you mean actually having the Dread Lords in the game you are playing.

Thanks for all the comments. I've been hearing a lot about the dread lords and after taking over 1/2 a Large galaxy with influence alone, I was kinda curious why they didn't appear at all.

Guess I'll have to play the campaign then.
