In playing Galactic civilizations 2 i am encountering a sound issue, in the loading screen and starting movie the sound is fine, go to menu screen the sound stops completely as well as having no sound in the game while playing thought it plays ok just no sound. I have tried all the audio options in the game to no avail, it was working fine for about the first 5-6 times i played it and then itg just stopped, i have un-installed and re-installed the game as well with and without the 1.1 patch.

I have updated with the latest patch for the game and my specs are below which are well above what is required for most games.

AMD fx 64 3200 cpu
2 gb of ram
512mb 6800 gainward graphics card
creative audigy 2 7.1 surround sound card
Win xp

Any suggestions or is there a thread you can point me too.
