Why Was My Mod Rejected - No Explanation?

One mod I submitted was rejected without explanation. That's unfair! At least tell me why.

Summary: I'm trying to rebalance social projects and technology costs. I agree that this is an "experimental" concept, but that's no reason to flat out reject it.

It was rejected? The FS-logo mod I submitted took ages to get put on the list. Did you get a message about it being rejected?

It just said "rejected" next to it.

Actually, I submitted 3 versions of the same mod and only the earliest version was rejected. But still, I thought that even version 1.0 was a nice improvement.

Personally, I think that if I go to the trouble of writing and submitting a mod, I should at least get some feedback if it's rejected.

That's odd. What sort of mod is it? It's not like the mods I submitted were works of art or anything.

It was a mod that assigned different values to planetary improvements. It was a modded/overhauled "PlanetaryImprovements.xml".

In the course of writing the mod, I discovered a bunch of bugs in mod support. Perhaps they are waiting to fix the bugs. For example, you can't create your own trade goods.

The argument "it's someone else's IP" doesn't apply in this case, since all I did was edit the data files that shipped with the game. (I know some mods were rejected for the reason that they contained IP that would be problematic to post.)

Another argument for rejecting it is that it screws up the AI. If you change the planetary improvement values, the AI doesn't compensate its strategy intelligently. I call that an AI flaw, not a reason to reject the mod.

I also posted 3 separate versions of the mod. The only rejected the version I posted the earliest. (I've been coming up with newer versions as I've been testing/tweaking it.)

Man, that alone would be reason to reject it here - support would be overwhelmed with players who would start complaining about your mod. They are pretty picky in that respect - it is hosted here, it cannot break things in the core game. SD would have to support it.

Try putting it on a 3rd party fan site.

Well, I sent versions to the other site mentioned above, and it hasn't shown up there. "The Galactic Core" hasn't been updated in over a month, apparently.

I'd like to put it up on a website somewhere just so someone could take a look at it.

I'm pretty sure that the data values in the core game are badly broken and unbalanced.

I have the opposite problem. I have like 3 or 4 sitting there with the descriptions Moderator Please Remove, and they keep approving them

So I have to once a week edit them so they go back to awaiting approval
