First post here (reposted to the right forum I want, i.e. GameTalk), GalCiv2 is very enjoyable, best 4X I've experienced so far. Hopefully Frogboy will check out the flg and put the (friendly) suggestions to 1.1b4 soon. Not all suggestions below are my idea, just gather those I see best....
As always welcome discussion.
Main Map UI
Major fix needed:
1) whatever planet/fleet/starbase/etc is selected, mini map follow it in realtime
2) whatever planet/fleet/starbase/etc is selected, it is hightlighted in realtime at the respective Left Panel, AND vice-versa
3) Better indication of what is currently selected in main AND mini map, b/c due to different zoom levels, the marker cannot be always seen in main map
- MAJOR problem here, I aways need figure out where the heck am I, whenever I select anything in huge+ maps either at the left panel or main map. This distract me away from the game.
4) Show current co-ordinate in realtime
5) CTRL+A select all vessel in orbit or fleet; add use of SHIFT & CTRL click support there also
6) If not too much work, move those econ sliders like ind. spending, research etc at central bottom. That will save us from going back to the Fn4 key every other turn.
7) Carry-over unused researched points to next turns also helps reduce inconvenience at pt #6.
Minor fixes preferred:
a) Show Turn Income next to BC Total
Arrow keys scroll the map insted of moving ship
c) Switch the BC area & End-turn button, to avoid carelessly ending turn
Colony UI
Major fix needed:
1)Common buildings (banks, farms, etc) always at top of list & in fixed sequence, while GA etc at bottom; - avoid mis-clicking while upgrading
2) Minimap is NOT obstructed at right bottom corner
- so I know where this planet is
3) Move the build queue to middle bottom
- that most often used area is too small, while the original area shows the useless building description that has been already repeated at area 1)
