So so far we have confirmation that one of the dozens of United Planets laws doesn't work as designed.
No game is perfect and now that we know about that we'll definitely see to it that it's fixed. But let me put it this way - that Untied Planets law in question was in GalCiv I. It's left-over code. So apparently it wasn't so obnoxious of a problem that people were bringing it up in GalCiv I.
That doesn't excuse anything but it means an awful lot of people didn't notice it and I don't think (personally) it fills the criteria of the game being "full of bugs".
The problem with people having such a low threshold on what is "buggy" is that it creates the boy who cried wolf situation where truly serious problems tend to not get scrutinized.
Or worse, that games end up coming out that really are very buggy but no one takes those who post about it seriously because there have been too many times in the past where a game has come out that has a few minor (And indeed needing to be fixed) glitches has been accused of the same thing.
Or put another way, if GalCiv II is "full of bugs", then what strategyg ame that's come out in the past 5 years hasn't been "full of bugs"? Or what game at all for that matter.
I'm closing this thread since we're nearing 60 responses and all this post boils down to is:
"This game crashes on me because I haven't updated my video drivers on my 6 year old video card and it's also really buggy because I ran into a United Planets event that doesn't work as documented."
