I've got the bulk of the game digested but one factor that still baffles me is what exactly is taking place if I put focus on social projects? And just what the heck does "social projects" even mean? It sounds vaguely like facilities to increase happiness/morale but I assume that stuff is hard-wired into the literal buildings and race modifiers and such.
On a similar note, what happens if all tiles of a colony are built up and I leave the focus untweaked? Am I then wasting effort into production that goes nowhere?
